I have been using this product for my black lab mix dog for over a year. She weighs about 45 lbs. I figured out how much of a scoop to give her, which is about 1/5, and marked it inside the scoop. Checked w/my veterinarian and she said they often use products/supplements/medicines made for horses for dogs and adjust the amount according to weight. So I did receive her okay. My dog had surgery on her back leg last Feb. from a torn ligament and she was 12 1/2 yrs. old at the time. The glucosamine has helped her leg heal and she is still going strong at age 14. This is a great product and is a whole lot cheaper than buying glucosamine tabs from the vet.
