5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite new cookbook
I am always looking for cookbooks with delicious recipes that are easy to make for family and friends including those who require gluten free food. Gluten Free by Grandma is all I hoped it would be. Whether for entrees, side dishes, or desserts the recipes have been so simple and tasty that I will be sure to make them again and again. Since my immediate family members...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I would have liked to have known that the recipes were all going to call for a gluten free Kinnikinnick flour mixture that is not available locally. I was disappointed that the author did not include a homemade version. She did mention substituting Bette Hagman's flour mix, but she must be aware that Bette has several different mixes. I returned the book. Not helpful...

Since my immediate family members are non-celiacs, with some recipes I have followed the author's suggestion to substitute wheat flour cup for cup for the flours she uses in the book. Both the gluten free and gluten full versions of the recipes turned out great!

It's about time! A gluten-free cookbook with delicious recipes that are not difficult to make. The ingredients are easy to find, and the recipes are not complicated. But, most importantly, the food is delicious! I recommend this book to anyone who needs to eat gluten-free.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great recipes, June 7, 2007
This review is from: Gluten Free by Grandma: They'll Never Know If You Don't Tell (Paperback)
I've tasted tested the recipes in this book... they are great! Very enjoyable. Also, the recipes are relatively easy to make, no complicated procedures or rare ingredients. I highly recommend it to those who need to avoid gluten, and even to those who don't... they're just good recipes.

I never really knew for sure whether I had a gluten intolerance until I started using Betty's recipes, ingredients, and conversions for my other recipes -- I feel so much better now!

3.0 out of 5 stars Recipes had name brand GF substitues, April 21, 2008
By
This review is from: Gluten Free by Grandma: They'll Never Know If You Don't Tell (Paperback)
I had to return the book because many of the recipes had name brand ingredients that are not easily found in my area. I was hoping the book would have had recipes with the various GF flours. I was surprised to find premixed flours in a book by 'Grandma'.
