4.0 out of 5 stars Looks to be a fine gluten free cookbook April 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I don't know why people marked this book down for things like using the metric system (which is obviously the measurement used in the author's country). If one is really serious about gluten free baking, a food scale is highly recommended anyway and it can work in pounds, grams and ounces.

While some of the ingredients are different than what Americans are used to, it's doable. Just look up the item on the internet to see if it is just called another name in a different country.

As for the complaint about grammar, just breezing through the book I saw no errors that jumped out at me. Still, I think a cookbook should be judged on the recipes and the author's ability to present them in a way easily understood. Things looked good at first glance.

There are several recipes that look delicious and different than most I have run across yet. I welcome new recipes from other countries that I can try. I'll give this book a try to write another review after trying some recipes.

Thank you for this book. I have been able to make a couple of really tasty desserts, which is not always easy with gluten-free cakes.

2.0 out of 5 stars GET OUT YOUR METRIC CHART DECODER April 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Great if you work off the metric system I guess. But I don't. And since it is on my Kindle, to make anything I would have to transpose the recipe to paper, make the conversions and then go from there. Not a fan. Also, some of the recipes were just gross sounding. But I guess everyone has different tastes. Glad it was free. I did not feel bad when I deleted it and moved on.

1.0 out of 5 stars Oh, the grammar! December 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you can get through the introduction, or skip it altogether because it is incomprehensible, the recipes look unappealing and require lots of ingredients I don't have on hand. Perhaps a better stocked gluten free pantry would have those things, but for those starting out it isn't helpful. There was one recipe calling for buckwheat... I'm new to this but I'm pretty sure buckwheat is on the no-no list! I deleted this book- not worth the time.
