Excellent performances of El Maalem Mahmoud Gania captured live for the serious Gnawa enthusiast. Sound quality is not the best (read: authentic live recording in Morocco!) but the intensity and spirituality cut through the medium loud and clear. Not for hi-fi purists who can't handle a little noise in the listening experience; consider it a "bootleg" of sorts. El Maalem Mahmoud Gania is evidently reknown for the power and effect of his healing trance spirituals (Gnawa:/Songhai origin/ancient African/former slaves now mystical healers/ya Allah ya Rasulullah/Bismillah).
