I bought it for my co-worker, who LOVED it. The novelty seems to be the interchangeable scenery (super cute). I rated it 4 stars because while it's cute, and well put together, and the book was informative, the "fake grass" was really a green piece of foam in a little box. They could have used real "astroturf" and it would have gotten a higher rating from me. Also, because of the foam, it's hard to stick the flowers into the "scene".

My garden gnome was out of control!! I couldn't get a good nite of sleep and someone kept tinkling on my roses. As it turns out, I was mistreating my garden gnome. Without the author's tips, I would have continued to live in my own gnomish nitemare.

Thank you Marcus Mennes.

Thank you.

There is something about this gnome's smile that's a bit unnerving. Correction; his smile is more of a smirk. Like he's done something naughty and just waiting for you to find out what it is. But all in all, love this product. The little book is full of interesting tidbits about gnomes. I'd give it 5 stars, but sticking in the plastic flowers into the "lawn" is tough. I settled to put them at the sides instead.

I bought one and it's a great little kit. The gnome is not cheap looking at all and is well made. The grass can be a bit difficult to get the flowers in. The backdrops are beautiful and fit in their place easily. I usually switch mine on a weekly basis. The book is an informative and amuzing read that talks about the history of gnomes and talks about "roaming gnomes" and the need to guard your underwear drawer from a disgruntled gnome. I liked this gnome so much I bought one for my Granny, who is also a gnome lover. She set it up and every now and then I hide him and tell her that the gnome os roaming again. Then she has to go find him. So it may be fun to play roaming gnome if you buy this kit as a gift.

It is way smaller than I expected but is still very cute especially for gnome "collectors".

Such a charming little gnome, all nestled into his kit! The book itself is very engaging and well-written, with just the right level of whimsy. Seems like a funny character, this Marcus B. Mennes, living aboard his houseboat in Seattle, Washington...

I ordered this for a coworkers who loves gnomes. She likes this one very much, so well, I ordered her 2 other miniature gnomes.
