I bought it for my co-worker, who LOVED it. The novelty seems to be the interchangeable scenery (super cute). I rated it 4 stars because while it's cute, and well put together, and the book was informative, the "fake grass" was really a green piece of foam in a little box. They could have used real "astroturf" and it would have gotten a higher rating from me. Also, because of the foam, it's hard to stick the flowers into the "scene".

There is something about this gnome's smile that's a bit unnerving. Correction; his smile is more of a smirk. Like he's done something naughty and just waiting for you to find out what it is. But all in all, love this product. The little book is full of interesting tidbits about gnomes. I'd give it 5 stars, but sticking in the plastic flowers into the "lawn" is tough. I settled to put them at the sides instead.

My garden gnome was out of control!! I couldn't get a good nite of sleep and someone kept tinkling on my roses. As it turns out, I was mistreating my garden gnome. Without the author's tips, I would have continued to live in my own gnomish nitemare.
