5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I've been waiting for.
Gnosticism is a term that gets used and abused by so many different factions in our contemporary society. This periodical is a fresh and very welcomed introduction to the subject according to some of its best and brightest proponents. I recommend this to anyone who would like a nice sampling of articles that provide a great overview of what sorts of influence Gnosticism...

3.0 out of 5 stars I wouldn't buy another 1
Not that it was exactly bad, but it was nothing compared to the original magazine "Gnosis" that it was based on. Now THAT was a good magaine, which is now gone. This was sold as a book, but it was based, definitely, on the old Gnosis magazine. Try again!

This periodical is a fresh and very welcomed introduction to the subject according to some of its best and brightest proponents. I recommend this to anyone who would like a nice sampling of articles that provide a great overview of what sorts of influence Gnosticism now wields in the academic, pop cultural, ecclesiastical, and literary worlds. I look forward to the next volume.

My expectations for The Gnostic is that it may be a continuation of the Gnosis Magazine tradition from the 1990s. It looks like it is off to a good start, but I'm wondering what future issues will be like.
