Originally, I bought this book for my step-daughter, who recently expressed an interest in fish cookery. I've got loads of fish cookbooks, but this one sounded particularly good for a beginner. Well, she's never gotten the book because I'm using it. The detail on types of fish, for instance, and cooking methods, provides a good balance between too much and not enough information. The clear, easy-to-follow recipes are sophisticated, yet simple. I love the photographs. I'd recommend this to any cook as an excellent fish reference and day-to-day cookbook.
