Book Description

Tell Faith-Filled Fish Tales We've all heard them. "It was this big." "You should have seen the one that got away." People love to tell stories of their fishing adventures. When it comes to faith, however, most people clam up. Why is it we can't talk about what God has done in our life as naturally as we can spin fishing tales? This six-part DVD explores the motivation behind sharing our faith and how it can become a natural part of our lives. Its companion study guide is complete with a leader's guide and six lessons, including conversation-starting exercises, discussion questions, and application steps.

Our Sunday School Class has finished one DVD by Andy Stanley and has just started this one. We really enjoy the material and our class builds every week as members spread the word about the program. I hope we can find more after we finish this one. Many of our members ask to take the DVD home to listen to it again after we have completed the lessons. We recommend the DVD to anyone and everyone!

5.0 out of 5 stars GO FISH is a great small group study April 28, 2010
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
We couldn't be more pleased with Andy Stanley's "Go Fish" book and DVD series. It's an easy study to lead - there are 6 lessons. Our Small Faith Group of 8 couples takes turns facilitating, which is a no-brainer - turn on the DVD player and then read the questions. Of the 16 we have a PhD, 2 attorneys, a cardiologist, a banker, business people and several housewives - they all like it! The study has been very thought provoking and encouraging.....and dare I say life changing. We're anxious to do more of Andy Stanley's studies!

5.0 out of 5 stars New Ways To Fish March 24, 2013
By Lynnett
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
A new twist on fishing. While many churches are struggling with old school fishing in this modern world, this 6 part video series helps breath new life into fishing. It's entertaining as well as insightful. We are small town here and many things are still done "old school" so this was new and refreshing to me. If you are from the era where you hand out tracks and go door to door inviting people to church, then this will be insightful. If you are from larger towns where you have speakers like Andy Stanley and other great nationally known speakers then this will not be news to you.....but it is a good refresher and reminder of what we are ALL called to do and why and just how important it is! This DVD was used in our Life Group study but I purchased it also so that we could share it with others and we have watched segments of it numerous times. It is good for a group study or for individual use.

3.0 out of 5 stars Learning to Fish again October 19, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
We purchased the Go Fish Study Guide to accompany the Go Fish DVD. Our Bible Study group uses the 20 minute DVD to have a common knowledge of the materials before we begin answering the questions at the end of session. We find excellent interaction by all participants. We have a range of backgrounds, ages and knowledge in our group. This study format bridges the differences and helps us to understand the importance of our personal experiences in witnessing to others.
Andy Stanley provides an excellent sermon on the topics each week. A longer version of the Sermon is available on the DVD and that is viewed by some individuals in the group as well.

More About the Author

Communicator, author, and pastor, ANDY STANLEY founded Atlanta-based North Point Ministries in 1995. Today, NPM is comprised of six churches in the Atlanta area and a network of 30 churches around the globe, collectively serving over 60,000 people weekly. A survey of U.S. pastors in Outreach Magazine identified Andy Stanley as one of the top 10 most influential living pastors in America.

The author of 20-plus books, including The New Rules of Love, Sex, and Dating, Ask It, How to Be Rich, Deep & Wide, Enemies of the Heart, When Work & Family Collide, Visioneering, and Next Generation Leader, Andy Stanley holds two degrees, an undergraduate in journalism from Georgia State University and a Masters degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, the impact of which is all too evident in his written work.

In the digital world, his success reaches well beyond local Atlanta-area walls. Two million of Stanley's messages, leadership videos, and podcasts are accessed from North Point's website monthly.

In 2012, Your Move with Andy Stanley premiered on NBC after Saturday Night Live, giving him an even wider audience with which to share his culturally relevant, practical insight for life and leadership. In less than two years, over 36 million episodes have been viewed, underscoring Stanley's impact not only as a communicator but also as a cultural change agent.

But nothing is so personal as his passion for engaging with live audiences, which Stanley has pursued for over a decade, speaking at leadership events around the world. In high demand, he speaks at various events before a yearly audience of both church and organizational leaders of nearly 200,000, including conferences such as Catalyst, Leadercast, Exchange, and the WCA Global Leadership Summit.

"I cannot fill their cups," he often says of the opportunity to impact leaders in business and in ministry, "but I have a responsibility to empty mine."

Andy Stanley and his wife, Sandra, have three grown children and live near Atlanta.
