Do you have a young child and are travelling this Summer? There is a must-have book to read: On-the-Go Fun for Kids! More Than 250 Activities To Keep Little Ones Busy And Happy-Anytime, Anywhere! by Amanda Morin. I received a copy of this book and love all the great ideas! There are car trip games to Hotels and Vacations. My favorite chapter is #6: Bonus Activities For Work-From-Home Days. I really like the ideas Making a Movie (pg. 160) and Water Bottle Bowling. There really are so many fun things for kids to do. I would recommend for parents/caregivers of children up to the age of 8. This really is a Must-Buy! Great for summer and anytime!

he chapters are Car Trip Games, Planes and Trains, Hotels and Vacations, Things to do While you are waiting around, Shopping Trip Games, and Bonus Activities for Work-From-Home Days. On the way home from the beach, we did some of the abbreviations – such as what does SWAK stand for? It shows a picture as a hint. How about SOS? We also enjoyed making our own license plate, and doing a scavenger hunt and bingo at the grocery store. You can print a printable grocery store bingo here. Amanda includes this link in the book. The book has found a home in my purse for anytime we are waiting around or I hear “I’m bored” which has happened a lot this summer! There are so many resources mainly app ideas and websites that she lists in the book along with an idea. This book is comprehensive – she thought of every idea possible. It is well written and would make a great gift for any child who is traveling!

I received this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion, which I am providing.

I agree with the previous reviewer that in some cases, more detailed pictures in this book would have been super helpful. As a non-crafty person, I definitely need to see an example of the steps along the way.

With that said, though, if you find that a certain activity is too lacking in detail, jut move on to another activity, as there are TONS in this book. I think it is a worthwhile addition and great to take along with you for travel or just to have nearby to reach for any time your child says, "I'm bored!"

This book is packed with ideas for activities to do and games to play when you're on the go, either traveling or in a waiting room or even while shopping. I could have used a few more illustrations to go with the descriptions (like for the origami dog, a few how-to pictures would have gone a long way!) but then there wouldn't have been as much room for all the ideas, so I guess it's a fair trade. :)

I got this book for free, but all opinions are my own.

This is just the kind of book that parents, grandparents, and other care givers need to have in their library. With summer in full swing and the children are not in school, you will find more than enough activities to keep your children entertained. They will be able to use their creativity, problem solving skills, and knowledge. There are puzzles, mazes, and word searches.

The activities can be done at home, in the car, in a hotel room, at the grocery store, anywhere, even just taking a walk: like a scavenger hunt!

There are activities where an adult would do some teaching. For example teaching a child to calculate miles per gallon when you fill up the car with gas. What a great way to use a calculator and keep a record of your vacation mileage.

I believe you will agree with me that is book is worth purchasing and using with your child.
