4.0 out of 5 stars GSR Sport review
Not a bad scooter. Slow acceleration, strong frame, good speed, great gas mileage, and not too noisy. Personally a prefer the goped sport because it has better acceleration and is more fun to ride. The pull start will break eventually and the gears will need replacement. Also you need to tighten the chain sometimes. Otherwise I recommend it but if you have the money get...

Within 5 days of using this Go-Ped the pull start failed. The failure of the pull start caused an internal problem with the "kill switch" which made the problem worse. Patmont motors sent me to a local shop to get it repaired. All of this took about a week to get resolved. I recommend buying something like this from your local shop even if you have to pay a few dollars more. It is very time consuming to deal with Amazon and the manufacturer over the phone. You have to explain a lot and answer questions and wait for parts to be mailed, etc. It's much easier to take it into the store you bought from to resolve any warranty issues. Additionally, it wasn't until I actually paid for it and received a confirmation that the true return policy was clearly spelled out which is "not returnable". To Amazon's credit, they did give me a discount for all the trouble.

This is my first Go-Ped scooter and I love it. It's got just the right amount of power to cruse around the city. Great buy with a life time warrenty on the frame. Made in America means something to Patmont Moter works. I tested it out going up some steep hills and it takes them like a champ with only a little help. It gets great gas milage and is not that loud. I am going to add a few aftermarket parts though to make it more efficient. Like a real air filter, velocity stack, Exhaust, and larger fule tank. It's a two cycle engine that are easy to mantain and find parts for, If you have a gas weed waker it's almost the same concept. I only know the basics with 2 and 4 stroke engines but thats more then enough to mantain. Google provieds answers to things I don't know and their are go-ped communites online that are great resorces to mods and things you can do. Well worth my investment.

After less than 3 months, the pull cord stopped working and the scooter won't start. Amazon is of NO help whatsoever. The manufacturer has offered to send a replacement part, but does not cover labor to repair. This is a horrible experience and I would stay away from buying this product and especially if there is no local dealer. Amazon's attitude is simply unacceptable.
UPDATE: after installing the new pull, the engine failed. The warranty is good for 90 days and so it cost me $200 to repair the engine, which was obviously defective at time of purchase. Goped's response to everything is that products are tested at the factory. Yeah .. I am sure every auto manufacturer also tests their products at the factory, but how many cars have warranty work done ... PLENTY. Enough .. Goped is not a trustworthy company and their retailer (Amazon) should be ashamed of leaving a customer in the air. AVOID THIS PRODUCT OR BUY YOURSELF AN EXPENSIVE HASSLE.

On the description of the item it specifies that the Goped is powered by a Komatsu Zenoah engine. Which is not true!! It is really produced by a cheap and bad quality brand called "Chung Yang" (CY). I'm am NOT happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars well worth the money, December 9, 2011

when the unit arrived the case which covered the air filter was cracked which looked like it happened during shipping however i glued it together to keep air from escaping and this thing is great.. obviously it would have been a better experience if everything came in without any damage but it was nothing a lot of superglue couldnt fix.. the unit is amazing and well worth the money.. i got the goped for my son and i think im the one addicted, now i want to get one for my myself, my wife and my daughter.. this was one of the few items that allowed my son to ride around the neighborhood legally and with style.. it starts off a little slow but once you break that motor in after around 30 minutes of riding its hard to put away.. so glad i decided to take the goped route! it didnt have the best reviews on amazon for some reason but it did have the best price.. so glad i got this unit!

2.0 out of 5 stars Go-Ped GSR Sport, December 12, 2008
This review is from: Go-Ped GSR Sport Gas Powered City Scooter (Gloss Black) (Sports)
Pros: Light, compact, efficient.

Cons: Rough ride, handles poorly, takes bumps VERY hard, difficult to start(pull-start), a hassle to mix gas/oil.

Advice: Pick up the Electric Hoverboard for a few hundred bucks more - you will be glad you did! Great suspension, starts at the push of a button, rides smooth(larger wheels and tires & great suspension!). Heavier, but much higher quality.

I've hardly seen my son since Christmas - except to take him to buy gas on 4 different occassions. The scooter starts right up every time and has him VERY impressed!
