Pretty good but not quite as advertised,

Overall this cat tree is pretty good. Like most tall trees, it wobbles a little. But my cats run up and down it and I never feel like it might tip over. The least-stable part is the bottom cubby-hole. It stands alone and is not very sturdy.
The fabric used is nice and not as cheap as other ones. On the front above the main cubby is a lame "Go Cat Club" fabric patch that looks terrible. However, with some scissors it is easily removed. The "basket" (on the left) is really too small for most grown cats (my smallest cat is 10 pounds and the basket is too small for him). The dangling mice have so far held their own after many battles. My main gripe is that I bought this one because it was advertised as being among the heaviest out there. I wanted the heaviest one that I could get because I wanted the sturdiest one I could find for my money. The advertised weight was 90 pounds - much heavier than similarly-priced towers. However, its actual weight is 60 pounds. It really isn't a big deal because, as I said before, it seems pretty sturdy. However, I do have it in a corner. If it was not in a corner, I am not sure how stable it would really be. **UPDATE: So I have had this tower for almost two years now. For the most part, it is still in good shape. However, the small stand-alone cubby you see at the bottom has completely broken off of its base. Or rather, the bottom of the pole (where it connects to the floor) has completely broken from the platform on the bottom. As I initially mentioned, this cubby is not supported by anything else and it was wobbly to start with. Well, my cats use this as a launching pad to get to higher levels. Consequently, it broke. I don't know of any solution to fix this, but one might try tying guide ropes from the base of the cubby to the other parts of the tower. This is definitely this tower's weakest point. I have noticed that other reviewers have posted that the instructions were hard to follow. I have put together cat trees of other brands, and I have to say that the instructions aren't any better for the others brands I have tried. The trick is to lay out all the pieces and look carefully at their diagram. A lot of the pieces looks the same, but some of them are an inch or two longer than others, and this is reflected in the diagram. I agree it is not a great way to communicate, but trying to reach English instructions on what to do is often worse...anyone who has assembled some Chinese furniture with "English" instructions can attest to that.

First of all, the product took several hours to assemble. The instructions were terrible; it was little more than a drawing of the completed structure. The lower and smaller house is most unstable because it is not attached to the rest of the post. After spending the time to put it together, my two smaller cats (who both weigh about 6lbs each) would not climb past the second story because the structure wobbled too much. My heavier, larger cat (who weighs 17lbs, and he's skinny!) loved the bigger house when it was on the ground, but when it was assembled, he was terrified when I lifted him into the house because it shook so much. I ended up taking the whole thing down and reassembling it so that the larger house was put just above the smaller house, which really helped to stabilize the structure (law of gravity - gravitational potential energy). Then I put the ledges above the large house, and the three cat seats on the top where they were supposed to be. The cats loved the new configuration; now they play on it all the time. It could be sturdier, but after 5 hours of assembly, I'm too tired to try anything else!

My cats love this thing. Yeah, it's a bit wobbly but, as another reviewer said, not to the point that I worry about it tipping. The instructions, however, are hands down the worst I have ever seen. Putting it together was basically looking at the picture and hoping for the best.
Also, the top house was too unstable. We had to add an extra screw in the bottom of it to secure it. **Edited: Nearly 1.5 years later and we still have this cat tree. The cats still love it. I'd recommend it, just keep in mind the issues pointed out about the instructions and extra anchorage.
