4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Post
I just purchased this post and my cats love it. I mainly wanted it as a scratching post for my older cat so I like that the posts are carpeted. The carpet is not very high quality but I kind of expected that. It is fairly sturdy except if a cat is in the very top it will wobble a bit. I submitted a picture so you can get a better idea of the size it was smaller than I...

This is handsome and looks great in my LR. I like it, but I do have reservations. This is my "additional" cat tree. My primary cat tree was moved to the kitchen area so that my cat could look at the birds in the garden. My cat is interested in the new Cat tree and he has climbed it a bit and scratched on it alot. I looked everywhere for a real picture of this thing when I was shopping so I felt I could help the next person. Overall I am happy with this cat post.

My cat is a BIG boy--the platforms are a bit small for him. He hasnt managed the "turret" on the top---it isnt cut as low for entry as the photo led me to believe.

My cat, Cody, would like to climb into the top turret but hasnt figured out how to do it yet. {The best way would be to jump from the top of the TV but I am not going to suggest that!} I think smaller very athletic cats could manage it fine.

I think this piece of cat furniture is best for small to medium size cats

5.0 out of 5 stars I was frustrated by it, but kitty loves it; 5 stars for the end result., January 1, 2010

We were excited to find a black tower for our kitty to enjoy that wouldn't look hideous in our mostly black/modern apartment living room. The very reasonable price seemed almost too good to be true, but looking at the end result a month after setting it up for the kitty, I give this tower 5 stars.

At first there was some frustration, because the ikea-style directions mislabel two of the pieces, and instruct you to use the wrong piece right off the bat. We wondered why there was no bolt on the end of the first pole piece when there was a hole for a bolt to go into. Once we reached the end and had a pole with a bolt trying to match up to another piece with a bolt, we knew that first pole wasn't in the right place. Disassembled and reassembled -- not too big of a deal, but annoying.

We set it up in a corner near the window so our kitty could look outside. After a few weeks, she only ever went halfway up the tower and never jumped up to the top bucket-bed piece. We figured out that you could tug on the cloth/foam walls of the bucket piece and roll the fabric under so the kitty could see the now open top platform. After putting a treat or two up there, she started using the top area regularly.

She never crawls into the alcove, but she loves scratching on the posts, especially the top rope-covered post. She's not very into the dangly toys, but she likes the tower itself and when she's not on her favorite blanket, she's on the tower sleeping on the soft "kitty paw" landing or on the top tier.

I can see why some buyers complain that this tower is too small for big kitties. We have an adult female who likely had kittens at a young age, which will stunt a cat's growth. She is not a large cat, and this tower fits her perfectly. If she were any bigger, I doubt she'd be as comfortable sleeping on the landings or climbing up to the top tier. Another complaint is that the tower is too wobbly. It certainly wobbles on our carpeted floor when our kitty is climbing up onto the top landing, but we made sure to securely fasten the pieces together during construction, and I don't feel that it's dangerously unstable.

I definitely recommend this product to anyone with a smaller adult cat (or kitten!) who is looking for a fairly stylish tower for their kitty to enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Cat Tree!, November 10, 2008

I love this cat tree, it is pretty tall and full of places for my cats to scratch. The top basket is large and roomy for my cats to snuggle in. The only draw back would be the smallness of the lower cubby. It will accommodate a smaller cat but not one that weighs more than 13-15lbs. But over all, I would buy this again and recommend to a friend! Easy to put together.

5.0 out of 5 stars My cat LOVES this tree house, July 9, 2009

My cat loves jumping on this thing. I'll be honest, it took a little while to assemble. I ended up not even putting the very top piece on because it did make it a little wobbly, and accessing it was dificult since the sides are much higher than what is displayed in the picture.

After a few weeks of not much usage, my cat, Sugar, absolutely loves jumping and playing on this. She stands on the middle platform and grabs the rope scratching post with both paws and gnaws on the post, eyes as big as they can get! Before I go to work, she's usually on right side platform awaiting her send-off attention. It is great seeing Sugar playing with her Christmas present!

The construction is solid. I would have liked seeing the platform a little bigger for stability, but it works out fine. I've had it now for 7 months and it is holding up well. It looks like it will last a very long time.

My cat loves it. I did move the third level post and platform to the fourth and fifth level posts and platforms position. I placed the fourth and fifth level posts and platforms in the third level post and platform position. My cat now has an easier time getting to the very top level.

I couldn't be more unhappy!! This thing is not like the pictures show at all! I have a small cat, and the whole tower is too small for her. There is no way for a cat to get to the top unless they can walk on air. It's very wobbly and the instructions suck. I messed up and bought online.. i should have just gone to pets mart and paid a little more. I'm writing the people who i bought it from now to see about a refund

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of ways to assemble cat tree!, February 22, 2011

I have three cats, one of which is a HUGE cat. My cats LOVE their new cat tree! The bed is their favorite and they all want their own turn to snuggle in it, but they enjoy climbing the tree and the softness of the cat tree's material. I used to have carpeted climbers but this is so much better. Soft and cuddly, not stiff and scratchy. The design is just like in the picture. Also, it has a triangle base which would fit nicely in a corner except for the levels that stick out so the cats have loads of places to jump or climb onto. I have ours free standing for this reason and it is not such that it is likely to fall over when the cats jump up. Please be sure and read the other reviews and examine the pictures that different people submitted to try to get an idea of how you can alter the directions to put it together to suit your needs. That's the great thing about this particular climber. Most of the others ones I have bought don't offer the chance to switch the parts to different locations. This one does. Very nice! Also, it came with directions in order of 1,2,3,etc. Just follow the numbers. Also, if you are instructions allergic, just ask your teenager to help you! It will be a BIG boost to their ego and sense of accomplishment to be able to figure out the instructions and help you put it together. We bought three (different) climbers this week and my teenager feels like a pro at instructions (even the silent type with no words)!! Enjoy!

3.0 out of 5 stars Kitten Tree, February 10, 2011

This review is from: Go Pet Club 62" Tall Greyish Black Cat Tree Furniture (Misc.)
Overall kind of a cat tree designed for kittens. The top tear is a little tough for them to jump into, but if you fold the cloth side down it works fine. If an average cat were to try and fit in the cubby they wouldn't be able to turn around to get out (I used the space as storage for toys until I got a new kitten). The larger your cat the more the beds and platforms will wobble, which is expected, but the amount of wobble was a tad unsettling when dealing with my adult cat. Also, the interior of the posts starts to work its way out of the outer material as you tighten them, making them wobble more and more the more you try and solve the problem. The simple fix is not continuing to turn the post once they are all the way in. If you've already done it, a bit of wood glue will secure the two materials together again. I honestly wouldn't buy this again, for the simple fact that once the kitten is a cat the thing is basically unusable. Would be great for a shelter or foster families that have a lot of kittens constantly. Lol.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very unstable but there is a fix., January 17, 2011

This tree is very nice other than it's stability. The highest post (made from two posts) is extremely shakey...the cats went up once and wouldn't go up again. But instead of disassembling and returning it I just removed one of the posts and the middle platform. Even though it's not very high, its much more stable and now the cats love it. This is a nice looking piece, perfect for our game room.
