I have 3 kittens 4 to 7 months old and they love this tree.

The top perches wobble a bit when my 12.5 pound cat jumps off one, but the tree is in no danger of toppling over.

Cat trees half of this size cost twice as much at you local pet stored.

I saw that this cat tree had over a hundred positive reviews on another site, so ordered one. Assembled in less than 30 minutes. Sturdy, solid stand IF YOU MAKE SURE TO TIGHTEN PROPERLY and enough. It is very easy to move around on a smooth floor. I have four young cats, and the three males are very active and play aggressively. They loved this stand instantly, but the great thing is that even though they rough-house on it, they are also very mellow on it. They love sleeping in the perches and are very calm when they are resting there.
The material is not carpet, but a kind of plush covering, but no matter as they use the many sisal posts to scratch on. The underlying material is a kind of particle board vs. plywood, which is great because you can staple lots of other hanging toys from different places.

My cats range in weight from 11-13 pounds and it is plenty big enough for them, including the perches.

The other reason I got this was for my 4th cat's health. She is a female rescue who has had ongoing lung problems; she was always hiding under beds and avoiding the males which complicated her condition, given that I have tile floors that are impossible to keep dust free. After seeing that new show "My Cat from Hell" I liked the advice about giving cats a high place to go. It worked. It took her several days, but she got used to the tree and is now on it, and off the ground, most of the time. She has, as in the TV show, become more relaxed, friendly, and approachable. She plays more, and now the stuff in her lungs is clearly loose and getting coughed up. The best part is that for the first time since she was a kitten she has started purring again.

I cannot say enough what this silly tree did for all my cats' morale and quality of life.

I read all the mixed reviews on this product and was hesitant to order it. I'm glad I finally did. The furniture arrived 4 days after I ordered it. The box was not beat up as I have read in other reviews. All pieces were in the box as well. The directions were easy to understand. It took me about 45 minutes to complete the assembly. I had no trouble. I have read many reviews about the stairs not working. I had no issues attaching them. It is not at all wobbly either. If this company had these issues in the past they have corrected them. I did notice a faint odor but it smells like glue. It is not a strong odor, I believe it is from the sisal rope glued onto the posts. My cats didn't seem to be bothered by it. The furniture is not covered in carpeting but with a soft furry like fabric. It is quite nice and my cats immediatley started rubbing all over it. Overall I would highly recommend this product. I shopped around at all the local pet suppliers and online and compared prices and products and this furniture is well worth the money spent.

I bought this cat tree in Aug 2010 for our three cats. They love this thing and sleep on it all the time. They run up and down the platforms and hang onto the posts. The hanging toys only lasted a few months because the cats chewed the strings to get the toys loose.
This has been a great purchase. The cloth material and the posts are all holding up great. I was concerned the cloth wouldn't wear as well as carpeted trees but there are no tears or bare spots anywhere after a year and half of rough-housing. The cat hair does accumulate in the corners of the platforms but I can get it out with a brush and vacuum. It still looks like new after a good vacuuming.
My wife and I adopted two more kittens this past year and they have also taken up residence on it. We do have this in a corner because the cats run and jump onto it so much but I do not think they could tip it over even when they hit it mid height from a leap off the sofa.
I had no trouble assembling this. The stairs didn't sit flat at first but they have since relaxed from all the cat traffic. I made sure everything was tightened well and evenly during assembly. I have only had to tighten one of the bolts in the past year.
I highly recommend this cat tree especially for the price. I would definitely buy this again.

So I ordered this on the 15th and it came in on the 17th. It took my brother and I 20 minutes to put it together as my cat supervised from the box. Once it was together my cat would only go on the bottom level because he's never had anything he could climb on that was that high. I sprayed the tower down with catnip spray and now he climbs all the way to the top level, which is quite a feat considering he's 14 pounds. He doesn't sleep on the top level cause they are a little small for him but he will sit on it and look down on us all since it's even taller than my brother. The stairs are cute but he won't use them, he'd rather jump. In all I'm very pleased with the whole transaction. This tower is much bigger and cheaper than the cat tower I was looking at at PetSmart. It holds up to my 14 pound ninja monster and he can even fit in the cubby holes. Plus it arrived in two days despite the fact that I didn't pay for two day shipping. I love Amazon! I didn't have to pay shipping at all!

5/22/12 So it's been a few days and he still loves it. He's started sleeping on the towers. I didn't think he'd fit but he does. He doesn't even sleep with me anymore. I'll always find him on his tower at bed time. The mice are still attached but he only plays with them sparingly.

7/9/13 It has been over a year. I've disassembled it and moved it twice and it's still good as new every time. My cat still loves it. If it's in the bedroom he opts to sleep on it and not the bed. He has little to no interest in the mice so they are still intact. He also doesn't really use the stairs but I've found from taking it apart and reassembling it that the stairs keep it steady. It gets a little wobbly without them. I've also lost screws when moving it and they were easily replaced at Home Depot.
