Great Fun!,

I actually bought this game because in the past months I had actually wondered what a pro lumberjack competition is like. I saw one at Sea World when I was a kid and I am fascinated by the out of the ordinary. So, I bought partially for the novelty, partially for the great price of only $30, and also, I figured there would probably be some good exercise. I was right on all accounts and this ended up far exceeding the novelty expectations and ended up being, well...a hoot.
It really does a great job of creating an environment where you feel like you're at a county fair or somewhere deep in the South or backwoods. The games are quick and there is plenty of variety to keep it interesting, and you use arm motions and your feet, so some of the competitions actually left me winded. I felt like I was getting as much exercise as my Wii Fit but this was so much fun it didn't feel like exercise, it felt more like I was competing. I got so into it I raised my hands in victory a couple times when I dusted the competition. I am not a huge game person and I only intended to play this for about 10 minutes to try it out and ended up playing it for an hour and wishing I could have played it for longer. This would definitely be fun to play against other people but a lot of fun, also, by yourself. And you also have the option of playing it without a balance board if you don't have one. It gives you instructions of how to use just the remote or the remote with the balance board. I am curious about the GoPlay Circus game now, though, that seems like it might be more balance and less movement, which I like more of in a game than just mashing buttons. I also hope they create more of these environmental type games where you actually feel like your in a different world, culture, or environment. It's kinda fun to feel like you're slipping into the life of someone in another part of the country.

This game is freaking hilarious!! We bought it and started playing...4 hours later we finally forced ourselves to stop. You saw logs, chop logs, throw axes, do water log rolling, and tree climbing! It is a blast and provides great entertainment watching everyone act like a lumberjack! I HIGHLY recommend this game...it was worth every penny!

I read one reviewer claim that the sawing didn't actually require sawing. Of course it requires sawing. The sawing consists of 4 activities. One must start off in the FREE PLAY mode, and not in the TOURNAMENT mode. In my opinion, one should start off at the easy difficulty setting to feel comfortable with each mini-game. It's pretty simple to win a trophy in all events in the easy mode in my opinion. After completing the EASY mode, you will then go on to the medium mode and complete all of the activities. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO UNLOCK NEW CHARACTERS. The tournament mode will NOT unlock new characters. after this, of course you progress to the hard mode and complete the Tournament.
Sawing-consists of 4 activities with 3 different difficulty settings. Sawing requires a lot of super-fast Wiimote waggling at the Hard mode. Axe Throwing- 3 events with 3 difficulty settings. point, aim and click type of game. Chopping- mimic the on screen indicator. ex. press A, button 1,2,1,A and then CHOP.etc. kind of relaxing. a lot of button pushing with a chop at the end. chopping occurs maybe every 5-8 seconds with 4 mini-games. Water events- reminds me off Frogger. 2 fun arcade type events. Climbing- requires a lot of Wiimote-waggling, but it gets tougher at the hard level because you have to waggle and avoid balloons being dropped at the same time. Pole Climbing is very frustrating at the hard level. Overall, I'd say for the price, Lumberjacks is a steal.

This is by far one of the most fun filled games we have purchased for our Wii recently! Great fun and exercise both.

This game is so much fun to play. It is very simple, but there are a lot of different activities and some even get your heart racing!! (Such as the climb and cut.) I got 3 wii games for Christmas, this was the most inexpensive one by $20 and is by and far my favorite. It is fun to play alone, but even more fun against other people. You can use your wii balance board if you want, but I don't find it necessary.
I would recommend this as a fun, yet simple game for the whole family. There are directions on every game screen so you can always reference them.

I was looking for a game that my 4 year old grandson could play that didn't involve super skills or killing people. Lumberjack fits the bill and he loves it. Since he has 4 year old reading skills I needed to play as well to get him started but it wasn't long before he didn't need much help. I found it to be great fun to play, too! If you are a true "gamer", as they say, and are looking for a real challenge this game is probably not going to satisfy you but if you are looking for just plain fun then this game will fit the bill nicely. And since my grandson talked me into letting him take the game home with him I will be purchasing another one before he comes back to visit in a couple of weeks. I highly recommend!

This game was fun to play. It was nice you have the option to use the Wii fit board or just the controler. The whole family played and enjoyed it.

My wife wanted this soo bad so I ended up getting it. It is actually a fun game to play. It keeps your hands busy with the Wii remote. I only wish the ranking system would show a different scene other than the same one over and over.
