5.0 out of 5 stars Great!! Runs 200W stereo perfectly!
I have only had it for a week, but so far I am very impressed. I use it to power my 2.1 computer speakers (200 watts) and it is beautiful. Also since it has 2 outlets, I can charge my phone in my car at the same time! Great product, great price. Cig lighter hook up is MONEY!

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok for the money
I purchased this inverter thinking it would be at least ok compared to the true sine wave model. Truth is it's not even close. It did, however meet my needs as a backup unit.
It was able to deal with a 200W light load, but anything over that and it struggled. It will also run a very small motor, like a coffee grinder.
It is also much smaller than...

Purchased this for running a few low power items when the utility power is out. Very impressed with the build quality of this unit. It does provide the rated 300 watts without overheating or shutting down as long as adequate ventilation is provided, these do generate heat that must be dissipated. No complaints here considering the cost.

This is a Powerhouse! Not one of the cheap, made-in-china, "will only last a few months", disposable power adapters. I have owned a few different ones. The first was a Radio Shack, built-in the USA metal casing one which lasted for years. The next time I went to Radio Shack, all I could find was a cheap plastic one made in China. It didn't even last 6 months! I bought a couple more inexpensive ones which didn't last long. The previous one I picked up on my way out of town at Autozone and was nothing but problems: kept shorting out, would overheat, would only "trickle-charge", etc. I returned it as soon as I got back home.

Although I haven't used this "Go Power" model under load, I did plug it in and turned it on and you can tell it's quality-built, it appears it will do the trick and will last a long time (we have a road trip scheduled shortly so if I can add more to my rating later I will). I like the fact that it has 2 outlets, each with a ground plug! Great product - would highly recommend.

It is also much smaller than described. I was pretty surprised when I opened the box. Actual size is 5.75 x 1.75 x 3.5"
In conclusion, it's adequate for light tasks and worth it's bargain price. If you need a real and clean 300W, go for the true sine wave unit

This inverter seems to put out a very nice waveform. My "wall worts" are all quiet running off it. It also seems to be compatable with a Kill-a-Watt meter. this is very handy. I found the fan to be very loud and I don't think that you would want to have this in the cockpit of you car. It would likely be OK in the trunk when the car is running.

I was very happy with this thing until I broke it. I did something silly; I used it to run a gas stove. After about 5 kicks of the igniter there was a rather bad smell. I opened it up and the fuse was gone (a good thing) and a Mos-FET was in pieces (a bad thing). I have looked around and can't find out what the power draw is for the igniter on a kitchen range, so I don't know just how much I over loaded the poor thing. With the price of these things you can afford to blow up quite a few of them though.

1.0 out of 5 stars Did not work properly, September 6, 2011

The sine wave was not good enough to run electronics without serious interference. Additionally, the maximum wattage output for this device was 40w, rather than 300w. I am surprised that this product received any positive reviews. I suppose that some of these products are far less faulty then others.
