I have both the Leapster Lmax and the Didj and bought two of these. I have tested both the car adapter and AC adapter on both systems. I tested them by pulling out the batteries and seeing if I could play the systems. Here are my results:

Leapster Lmax:

AC Adapter- Didn't see any issues seemed to work just fine

Car Adapter- Didn't see any issues seemed to work just fine

Didj:

AC Adapter- as other have said... very flaky. Will work for a short time then any movement will cause the system to reset. If this happens a few times you get a message saying that Didj needs maintenance. At this point you have to plug it into the computer and run an update. Almost like it loses is flash.

Car Adapter- Didn't see any issues seemed to work just fine.

My son (age 4) takes this with him any time we go on a long trip or over someone's house with no kids (no toys for him to play with) or while I work. So the opportunity is often, and we were always finding ourselves with dead batteries and no options when I really needed it. This has been a LIFE SAVER! Yay!

We bought this for my sons Didj. Works great. Thank heaven's for saving batteries! We have only used the wall plug - haven't tried the car adapter yet. Cord for the wall is a good length.

I'm very pleased with the car adapter in this set. It works well with both our Didj and Leapster 2. The cord is long, so that it can reach easily to my children's seats with out trouble.

The wall adapter, however, leaves much to be desired. First of all, it's HUGE. I was expecting something more like the adapter that comes with the Leapster's chargable battery pack. This is about two times that size. Also, we can't get it to work with the Didj at all. It does work with the Leapster 2, but if knocked will no longer work until secured exactly back in place. It seems very...picky. It does work with the Leapster 2's battery charger, which is nice, but again, has to be pushed in just so, and then not touched or it loses it's connection, or something.

I bought this to go along with a Leapster 2 I was giving my son. The idea of going through batteries didn't impress me. At home, he uses the AC adapter and we've had no issues with it.

The main reason I bought it though, was for car trips. We go camping several times a year and because we only have one car between my husband and I, he spends more time in the car than I would like. This adapter made it so he could take the Leapster along with him. He's only been using it for about a week, so 5 car trips so far, but it has worked just as it should.

Technically I had bought the charger for the Leapster hand held system, though it didn't come to any use cause the system didn't want to turn on. But we where happy to figure out that we could use the chargers on one of the more bigger sustems that leapfrog has. All in total good

Only negative would be to have a little longer cord on it, that's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.
Works well, and saves me from having to recharge the batteries as much as I had been, since it gets used more at home than it does when we go out and about.
I have no problems with the plug coming out of the Didj or anything, it fit snug and stayed put.

This product really comes in handy as a substitute for using batteries. Great on road trips and home use.

At the top, it says "Other products by Leapfrog", which lead me to believe this was a Leapfrog product. I got the package and it says "Compatible with V.Smile Pocket & Cyber Pocket" and NOTHING about Leapster2. I will be returning it. Should not have come to Amazon, should have gone straight to the LeapFrog website.

I ordered this for my daughter along with her didj. Within the first five minutes of using it to play her game, it turned off about a dozen times. The plug connector doesn't fit tight and everytime she'd move even slightly, the "wiggle" made the adapter move and turn the game off. It's the same with her leapster. We're back to batteries - the rechargable kind!
