I was very skeptical when I ordered this gizmo. At 6' 3" and 250+lbs, I needed a strong and stable cane tip to help eliminate falls. This device fits the bill for several reasons:

1) As long as at least one on the 3 tips is flat on the floor, IT WON'T BUDGE, even when getting in and out of the shower.

2) My Standard 4-prong cane is heavy. Just using it for short distances can be exhausting. With this tip on my old single cane, I have maneuverability as well as some stability.

Two minor drawbacks:

1) The fitting is for standard canes only. I wish they had a narrower fitting or adapter for my ski pole/waling stick.

2) Once you pry off you old cane tip, you'll need a dab of Vaseline or WD40 on the very end of the shaft to install the Go Steady.

I can't remember why I chose this one instead of something else similar at a lower price. But I am very glad I did. My cane no longer slips away from me on icy, wet floors and pavements. It has a little shock absorption that makes me feel more relaxed and agile. And it's always flat.

It doesn't collect snow and ice the way other types have been described as doing and it is not a switchblade hazard the way the flip-up spiked ones are -- either to the inside, slashing your own pant legs or to the outside slashing whoever has the bad luck to walk too close to you in a crowd.

I'm usually kinda cheap so I wish I could tell you why I spent this much money on something so simple. I must have had a reason, but after reading through hundreds of reviews, one sometimes loses track. For whatever mysterious reason I bought it, I am thoroughly happy with it.

But just in case you were wondering, it does not enable your cane to stand up by itself, except on a very flat, non-carpeted floor -- and that's only if no one breathes and no buses are going by.

When I am unsteady on my feet due to RA flares, I sometimes need an assist. My cane was fine, but when my whole body is unstable, my hands shake badly and I don't necessarily put the cane down straight. This little addition was a wonderful replacement for the regular tip of my cane and made it much easier to walk.

Living in the land of ice and snow - especially this wintwr - I ought this tripod tip for stability. While it's expensice, it does what it claims. I've tried the other well know (TV) stands=by-itself tip, but because it's so large I kept stepping on it. Avoiding a single flop on the ice makes this tip a bargin. Don't be cheap - protect yourself.

This item turned out to do what it promised...there are many different bottom devices for canes...this Tripod Flexi-Tip said it was more slip resistant than other products...the price was high...but my love one had slipped 3 times with the cane she had, she said the rubber tip did not stop her forward motion in time, when she pressed down...she has been very happy the with the Flexi-Tip...it has saved her from falling twice...I brought it on the review of another reviewer here at Amazon

At the time of my review there were three reviews, all five stars. I would like to add my five stars. It really does work better than the several others that I've tried. The materials don't seem to justify the high cost but it works and that is what matters. I only wish they made one for a larger diameter shaft. But if they are only going to make one size this is the right one.

The tripod flex-tip is really nice to have it has saved me from a lot of falls, i use a 3/4" cane wood cane and handle, the flex-tip was hard to put on my cane, but once i got it on just a little bit my brother in-law just smacked it on the cement garage and it sled into place and presto i was ready to go.
