You won't find a diet plan in this book. Instead, you'll learn how you CAN lose weight for good by undieting! Go UnDiet shows you:
50 simple, painless, undieting actions that will change your diet and weight without a rigid diet plan, and with no counting of calories or fat grams
Why common food "villains" like meat and cheese are not responsible for your weight issue - and which foods are really to blame
A 5-second scan to spot diet-destroying highly processed foods (HPF), and 3 foolproof ways to avoid this weakest link
The truth about common diet myths, and how to choose food products that really work for you
This is not another "miracle" diet plan. Instead, Go UnDiet is a guide designed to help you lose weight for good by making small changes, one step at a time.

Are you puzzled by the weight you have gained? Does it seem like the pounds keep piling on, even though you don't overeat? This book explains why.
GoUndiet exposes the dangers of processed foods that add a huge number of empty calories and harmful chemicals to our diet. Once we recognize how these foods affect our bodies, causing "mysterious" weight gain and destroying our health, it's much easier to stay motivated and make positive changes.
This isn't the first book to explore the subject, nor will it be the last. What makes this book valuable is the way the information is presented. Readers can choose to follow all 50 recommendations at once, or make one or two changes at a time until all the unhealthy habits are eliminated. Diets fail because they require drastic changes that can't be maintained during our on-the-go lives. GoUndiet addresses this issue, by providing easy substitutes available anywhere, anytime.
If you have tried every diet on the planet without result, I highly recommend this approach instead. It truly is an UnDiet, and you'll feel healthier and more energetic in just a few days, without giving up your favorite foods or the occasional treat.
Gloria Tsang, a registered dietitian--the true expert in all things diet--has written a no nonsense, super-easy-to-read book on nutrition and weight loss. The book is simply packed with sound, basic, common sense nutrition and weight loss advice and packaged neatly into a clearly written, well-organized manual. Go Undiet; Go Buy It; Go Read It!--as this book surely deserves a place in everyone's kitchen library. Highly recommended!
Go unDiet - a catchy, succinct title. But what's inside this book, which on the cover promises 50 Small Actions for Lasting Weight Loss? Cut to the chase, easy-to-digest, common-sense tips to get away from "dieting" and on to slowly changing your eating habits towards healthy - once and for all. The author, Gloria Tsang, RD is a well respected dietitian, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the popular online nutrition website HealthCastle.com.
Tsang and I agree on a lot, particularly unDiet's basic premises, she says: "I believe in science, but I'm also a believer in common sense...this book is built around common sense" "Only life-long habits will give you long-term results." "You don't need another rigid meal plan...or rules for the road to follow."
Tsang doesn't mess around telling you what changes are important for you to make to eat healthier. She's also clear that your efforts won't necessarily be easy in our fast- and convenience-food world. She implores you to be ready, mentally and emotionally, to change your habits.
Tsang's information, condensed into about 150 pages, is generally research-based, accurate and current. Go unDiet doesn't unveil much new that the nutrition-conscious reader hasn't heard or read over and over. Rather she unwinds the puzzle of healthy eating in an understandable and approachable manner. She breaks the dense content of nutrition, healthy eating and tips for shopping and food prep, into understandable bites.
Tables, ingredient lists and cooking methods dispersed throughout the book, drive her practical points home. Within chapters and then again recapped in an appendix, are the 50 unDiet Actions. She summarizes each chapter with 5 Small Steps to unDiet....
Go unDiet is an approachable book that you needn't read cover to cover. Rather keep it around. Use it as a resource to answer basic food and nutrition questions and for the valuable 50 small actions for lasting weight loss that you now don't have to dream up on your own.Read more ›
Throw out what you think you know about dieting and read Go UnDiet instead. This is a great book that sums up healthy eating in an easy to read manner. Let go of your diet restrictions and follow the guidelines Gloria Tsang lies down. Here is nutrition information you can rely on. This is a great book if you are looking to eat healthier without being confused. I would reccomend this book to anyone who has thought about dieting.
As someone who is not into dieting at all, I was pleasantly surprised to find a book that touches on the topic of NOT going on a diet! As I get older and now being a dad, I do try to make healthier life choices for myself and my family. The author, Gloria Tsang, makes the science of healthy eating easy to understand. I have an academic background in food and nutrition but I actually still learned a lot about how to make healthier food choices from this book. Gloria's method of delivering information is simple, making it easy for me to remember the 50 small actions and get success. Only after reading this book did I realize that I was simply drinking too much of the wrong drinks! In fact, just by following one of Gloria's steps, I lost 10 pounds in a month without really even trying to lose weight. As a dad who is turned off by dieting, I found many of the small actions from the book got me motivated to change my eating habits without going on a diet plan. This book to me is not about dieting or eating healthier; it's more about learning HOW to make better eating choices and not just choosing low-calorie foods.
If you are looking for a great, easy to read motivational guide to weight loss and healthy eating, this book's for you. We all need a motivational take-home message now and then, and open any page to Go Undiet and you'll find one! While I'd recommend reading it cover to cover, you can easily skip around and find a summary on the last page of each chapter that highlights what "undiet" behaviors you may choose to work on. Gloria uncovers some common nutrition myths ("Don't be fooled by the high fiber claim") that help you get back to basics and eat a variety of 'real food'. The book also offers a review of fats, helping you include good fats in your diet, avoiding the unhealthy sources. I especially like the chapter on "Do Your Homework..." because grocery shopping can get pretty complicated as you read through all of the confusing front-of-package health claims. Bottom line: Go Undiet provides you with simple steps to help you break out of the 'diet' cycle, reduce the hidden calories in your diet, and make healthy choices on your weight loss journey.
