While this review may be a little premature as I haven't tried any of the recipes, at first glance I am a little disappointed. For me, there's a difference between cooking and 'fixing'. Looking at the recipes, it seems to me this is more of a fixbook than a cookbook.
When I looked at the veggie burger recipes, I was surprised they were based on using Morningstar brand veggie burgers - not making veggie burgers from scratch. I think I could have figured how to sprinkle blackening seasoning and blue cheese on a pre-made frozen veggie patty to make a black & blue veggie burger.
Another example - the "Pasta with Ground Beef" recipe. Ingredients- bag of pasta, an onion, olive oil, a bag of Morningstar meal starter crumbles, a jar of store bought pasta sauce and salt & pepper. Okay... Not sure I needed to buy a book to tell me that. :-[
The Morroccan-style Vegetable Stew and a few other entrees look good, and I will try some of the baking recipes. Hopefully recipes like those redeem the fix-ipes.
