Top Notch Recording!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
By Venture Freak (Long Island) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Go With Ventures / Batman Theme (Audio CD)
Go with the Ventures can best be compared to The Ventures' Wild Things and Guitar Freakout albums. They have no hits scored by The Ventures, but is real fun to listen to. Batman Theme is rightfully the same. Some good instrumental covers on this album are Green Grass, Boots, Frankie and Johnny, and Monday Monday. And perhaps the best song on the whole album is The Ventures original, Ad-Venture. Its guitar riffs and hooks are great! You can't go wrong with this album if you're already a Venture fan. If you are completely new to this wonderful group, get Telstar or Walk Dont Run.

Go With The Ventures - An amazing slice of instrumental pop.,

This review is from: Go With Ventures / Batman Theme (Audio CD)
This disc comprises two Ventures LPs, one of which, Batman Theme, is a good album of mostly original tunes based on the hit TV show. But the other LP, Go With The Ventures, is a masterpiece. On it's own, Go With... rates 5 stars. It contains half Ventures originals, (like the incredible Japanese smash hit Ginza Lights) and half covers of hit tunes of the day. In the latter category are amazingly tight instrumental renditions of songs originally recorded by The Young Rascals, The Mamas & Papas, Nancy Sinatra and Gary Lewis & The Playboys. This album smokes!

Worth it for "Go with..." alone,

"Go with The Ventures" was one of the very first albums I owned (handed down to me from my older brother), and it still to this day remains one of my all-time favorites (along with The Sandal's "Soundtrack to 'The Endless Summer", another one handed down to me).I actually grew up thinking that The Venture's covers of "California Dreamin'" and "Eight Miles High" on "Go With..." were original Ventures tunes...and I still prefer them to the original versions. Truly wonderful stuff.

Best audio version even if Batman is mono,
By Stereo Fan "Stereo Fan" (Southern CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Go With Ventures / Batman Theme (Audio CD)
There are other CD commercial releases of The Ventures "Batman" album that feature the album in stereo but they should be avoided due to the very poor tape from which they are mastered (that includes the SFM and Toshiba/EMI CD versions). One Way apparently noticed the problem with the available stereo masters and opted to go with an excellent quality mono master. I'm quite happy they did. The sound quality is excellent on both the albums included in this twofer (The "Go!" album is in stereo). These are great Ventures albums that include some of their better original material.
