We bought this for our car because it is be lighter than a hard crate and I wanted to be able to take it in and out of the minivan easily or fold down if I needed more space. We bought the 40" x 27" x 27" size and it fits well in the back of our minivan taking up about half the back with the 3rd row of seats down. The padding inside is washable with a very thin styrofoam like material insert. I prefer using a towel over a thicker washable crate pad which is easier to just throw the entire crate pad in the washer without taking out the insert. It is an attractive crate and easy to set up. It takes less than 5 minutes to set up once you know how to connect the frame and secure. It is easiest done by unzipping the top flap.
Not surprising, if you leave even a small portion of the flap unzipped, as I did when I was in a rush, my 3 month old puppy found it and in less than 2 minutes crushed the zipper teeth in a couple places. The zipper now is stuck and there is no way to open or zip up a portion of it. So there is now a 5 inch open gap which I'm certain will be a problem very soon. While I recognize it is my error, and something I overlooked in a rush, as well as being new dog owners, it was very disappointing to ruin the crate in less 5 outings.
