This product provides very basic information about my ford explorer (I know, very unique foreign car), which it thinks is a Land Rover, and has no compatability with other apps, such as Dashcommand. Interesting concept but wholly worthless without the software support.

Basically, what you're paying for with this product is a nice bluetooth interface to the OBD II port on your car. The fun part would be writing custom iOS apps to monitor the system in real-time, and I hoped this would at least provide some modicum of monitoring. Instead, all you get is an app that looks up trouble codes and attempts to tell you about every TSB ever issued against your make/model of car. This is something that I could do already... but hey, this was an impulse purchase that just did not work out.
