Product Description

Cleanly mount your GoPro Camera to your bodyboard or soft surfboard. Simply punch a hole through the board relatively near the leash plug (for bodyboards), so you can tether the camera to the leash plug string as a safety backup <--IMPORTANT. Be sure to avoid the stringer(s) though! Comes with plastic bushing, stainless steel Phillips head screw, and the GoPro Tripod Mount. Notes: Works for boards between 2 3/8"-2 7/8" thick only (which covers about 95% of the stock models on the market). Be sure to check the tightness from time to time and tighten as necessary. You can apply glue to the screw for a permanent more secure mount, but if you do this, don't expect to be able to remove it when you're done with the board! Please be sure to follow the above instructions, we cannot be held responsible for camera loss. Includes tether string for an additional measure of security!

First off, a little bit about my setup and how I'm using this mount:

I'm using a GoPro Hero 3 Black.

I bought 2 mounts, one for a Mike Stewart 7 bodyboard and the other for a 2013 Morey David Hubbard 7SS bodyboard.

I have NOT mounted the Morey yet, I only mounted the Mike Stewart board, as I wanted to try it on my old board before drilling through my new $300 Morey board..

The installation instructions that come w/ this suck. You really need to use a power drill, a screwdriver to punch through your slick bottom WILL NOT cut it. I spent a good 20 minutes drilling and switching out drill bits trying to find the right diameter drill bit. The plastic plug part that goes through the bottom of your board is WIDE!

So my only complaint w/ this product is that, once I got a hole big enough to fit the mount and plastic plug, the mount can easily spin around. This causes the camera to move after EVERY wave. After taking a wave, youll have to adjust the camera angle. Not a big deal, but annoying. I'm going to try and loosening the mount and filling the hole with epoxy, or something. I just need something to fill the extra space between the plug and mount so it can't spin around freely.

As far as the mounts durability... The mount is SOLID. No need for a backdoor floaty, or a leash for your gopro. This thing will not pop off. Make sure after a few waves you check the mount and make sure your camera is screwed on tight still. The only way I can see you breaking this mount, is if you slammed it into the reef after a big wave.

I was in Oahu a few weeks ago for 11 days, and this mount really got me some excellent footage. I was surfing 5'-7' faces, sometimes bigger all week. I even took it out at Pipeline and Sandy's beach.

I used this mount on my body board to hold my go pro 2. The waves were (EXTREMELY) harsh and after several hours of being in the water with my board the go pro stayed on secure with this mount. I am now purchasing a second mount for another board. I would recommend this mount for anyone who wants to keep their go pro secured on their board without worry.

The treading goes a certain distance. I put the mount closer to the front of my board, where it curves up. As a result the mount does not snug down flush. I had to put a washer in place to keep everything snug. Had I known that, I wouldn't have drilled a hole in my board to begin with.
