This thing really SUCKS!,

Well, what I mean is, the suction cup of the GoPro GSC30 has a lot of holding power. The surface you intend to mount the suction cup on needs to be smooth and nonporous, like the hood of your car or glass window. This unit is very well made just like the GoPro camera housing and other accessories which are available. They make a very good product.

I used this GoPro base to film and take pictures with my GoPro camera while flying my airplane, it is great, and the base attached very strong to the under wing of my aircraft. Great product!

This mount is awesome. you can mound it OUTSIDE your car while driving (provided you have clean windows) and drive on the freeway without even having to worry about losing your camera (at normal people speed, not 120mph). Sticks very well. There is a button you press down on when you position the suction cup, then you fold the clasp back. Very versatile and can tighten and loosen without tools.

This is an extremely strong suction cup...I have the surf hero and i dont want adhesives permanantely on my new firewire surfboard so i use this. Crashes through 6 foot waves without falling off no problem.

Obviously anybody is going to be skeptical of a suction cup and a $300 camera, just like me. I mounted it to the wing window of my truck and off I went! Rock crawling, high speed dirt roads, mud pits, and annoying rocky roads. The suction cup mount not only stayed attached, but the video was surprisingly stable. I expected some so so rattle your brain type video, but boy was I wrong! I noticed one of the fixed nuts on the mount to be missing and made it a bit of a challenge getting the extended brackets for the camera out. I wasn't happy about that and looked at other mounts at the store and they were missing too... Maybe I overlooked something? Anyways, definetly a good buy.

GoPro Suction Cup Mount for Hero HD Motorsports,

Great for getting the angle you need. Works good on cars, jetski, metal and glass. Make sure you tether it down by adding a small rope or cable or you just might loose your favorite camera. Add a bit of water or spit and it sticks nice. Must be a flat smooth surface. Push down on the center button then lock the latch over to ensure seal.

This suction holder works ok on one of my kayaks, but doesn't hold on the other. It requires a completely smooth and flat surface, which isn't present on one of my boats. I do put a tether on it just in case, and I only paddle on smooth lakes (there are wakes from boats), so I don't know how well it holds under more difficult conditions. One drawback is that the mount "wobbles" on the cup, so the camera is rarely steady. The result is that many photos are out of focus, but I guess this is to be expected. However, I have created a Velcro mount on a platform for my other kayak, and that holds the camera more securely and the pictures are more frequently in focus with that kind of mount.

I recently found out about the LifeProof GoPro iPhone 4 case adapter and thought it would be neat to get some videos while cruisin' to work in our crazy driver city. This combo works great! I mount this to the sunroof with the Lifeproof Iphone 4s Case. Best part is I can zoom in and out by opening and closing the sunroof. (Not really that much :P)When mounted this thing is solid.

You know that metal nut that the gopro screws screw into? Well yeah that falls off before use. lost one and replaced it with another one that well off one of those arms (from either the handlebar mount kit or this kit) and now i can't use that arm unless I hold the suction cup to the side, catch the nut, and stick it back into the hexagon socket.
