Gotrack EZ works as promised. It has given our family peace of mind about how well an elderly relative is finding his way about.

Installation couldn't be easier: just plug it in to your vehicle's OBDII port, which in newer cars is easily accessible underneath the dash near the steering wheel. In a '04 Corolla the Gotrack EZ is out of sight and out of the way. In a '09 Toyota Matrix the OBDII port position is higher on the dash and results in the unit being visible and possibly in the way of the driver's leg. Gotrack customer service suggested ways I could make such an installation less problematic, but since I bought the Gotrack for the Corolla I did not try them.

Once plugged in the unit started reporting the car's position without any additional work.

Unlike some GPS trackers you are not tied in to a long term contract with penalties for early termination. Gotrack offers 3 and 6 month prepaid service at about $22/month. You can resell the unit and the new owner can start new service at any time

I have found Customer Service and Sales to be easy to deal with and very responsive.

The website where you view location information is generally well thought out. The user can easily find both the current position of the vehicle and records of past positions and vehicle speed at each position. In fact you can track multiple vehicles if you wish. Like any GPS/map system the data isn't perfect -sometimes the street number will be incorrectly reported (but close to the correct number), and sometimes the position will be off by 50 ft or so- but if you accept these shortcomings the data is excellent.

Several people can log on and view vehicle information at any time (I did not try to see the maximum number of users or maximum number of vehicles).

Vehicle position is reported once a minute unless you manually request a position report. You can define a circle around a location (I have 6 circles: home, store, bridge to island...) that will trigger an email notification whenever the vehicle enters or leaves that area. You also can have an automatic email sent whenever the vehicle first moves each day. And you can be notified each time the vehicle exceeds a user set speed limit.

During the first two weeks of use I saw changes to the website that showed Gotrack is constantly improving their product. A new feature, not yet explained, apparently allows the user to set notifications for whenever a vehicle needs maintenance.

Although I have managed to use the product and service very effectively, I do wish there were a FAQs or help area on the website that would explain some of the information that is presented, and that would suggest ways to get more out of the product.

This product works very well and is reasonable to subscribe to compared to other products. Customer support was excellent and all questions were handled immediately (not with problems, but on how to set up and use reports.) I use for tracking teen driving and it is good with alerts and historical data. I definitely recommend this product.

The Go Track EZ couldn't be easier! Register it with the company as soon as you get it (a quick call to the 800# takes care of it)and you're given a user name and password. Then just plug it into your car's LDL port (no wiring needed!). After that you can track your car in real time on their web site. It's really great if you have teenagers who are driving because once installed it's almost invisible. You can get reports and maps for location, time, duration, even speed. This is a great product, it's been trouble-free ever since I installed it. I highly recommend it!

Bought the go track ez to keep track of a cheating spouse. Had to put the unit in a covert location. Plugged in the unit to the OBD II port of my car to verify that it worked as expected. Did great was absoutly amazed at the performace of the unit and the data that it sends. Website is very easy to use and wow can you ever track a vehicle. It was wrong on one street name in two long trips thru the city. Now it was time to put the unit in the spouses vehicle. Did not work well at all. Called customer service and they were extremely helpful. Cars OBD II port probably had some dirt build up etc. Not that you could see it but electronics are that way. Todd switched out the unit with a 3 wire unit which has to be hard wired in the vehicle. He actually sent the unit before i sent the other one back. Todd looked up the vehicle and told me what color wires to hook up to. Insturctions were included in the package and i had the unit wired and hidden covertly in 10 minutes. Works great and the plan is very reasonable. Hey a private dective said i could use his for $300 for one week. What a great deal and now i have peace of mind knowing where she is at all times and i can actually smile as she lies about where she went. A must and after i am done with her it will be in my 16 yr old sons vehicle so i can have peace of mind as he drives. Would recomment to anyone and as i say it worked better than expected.

Just as advertised, this little device plugged straight into the ODB II port on our 2009 Mustang. There was a little glitch in getting the unit registered - normally it comes from GoTrack ready to go - but this was a minor inconvenience.

From the get-go it tracked the vehicle from Point A to Point B leaving a trail of informational arrows showing the direction of travel. It registered my speed every minute of the trip as well on a detailed report!

If you have a need for keeping an eye on a vehicle and it is equipped with the standard OBD II port, I don't think you can go wrong with this product!

My sister and I bought this device to keep track of my Dad, who had Alzheimer's, after he took the car one time and got lost and didn't return for four hours. It plugs into the diagnostics port under the dash. Unfortunately, the plug-in type screwed with the car's system (a Toyota Avalon) and the anti-lock braking system wouldn't work while it was plugged in. Guy at the car audio place told me stuff like this can happen in higher-end model cars. But the company that makes the device happily replaced the plug-in device with the direct-wire version, at no cost. It cost about $125 to have it installed at my local car audio place. I had to pay about $150 for 6 months of online service. Once I had all that set up, the device worked fantastic. While the car was being driven around town, I could get online and see exactly where it was going, the location being updated every 60 seconds. Technology is a wonderful thing.

very easy to set up.... no trouble getting hold of the company to set up.. worked straight out of the box

Easy installation, easy set-up via a simple phone call resulted in tracking in under one hour. It took me several attempts to figure out what each heading monitored, but once I did it was a breeze to monitor the vehicle it was attached to. When EZ track records are cross checked with cell phone records, I can determine whether texting/phone calls are occurring while vehicle is in motion. I couldn't be happier with this product and I highly recommend it to anyone worried about teenage drivers. Additionally, my vehicle insurance caught a small break since this was considered an anti-theft device. Great product, great bang for your buck!

We installed this unit in my daughter's car. She was consulted beforehand and loved that we will be able to find her in case she gets into trouble between home and collage.

The unit took 5 minutes to install and 5 minutes to setup on line through GoTracks.

We are adding them to the other vehicles.
