I've used one of these for nearly two years now. It works as advertised. It's adjustable to a wide variety of goatee styles, and it's use is pretty much a no-brainer. I use it maybe once every ten times I shave just to make those small adjustments that eyeballing misses. I don't understand the one star reviews: hey, it doesn't shave you, it's a freaking template.

I've messed up my goatee more times than I count which usually leads me to shaving all my facial hair off until it all comes back in evenly again. This is why I generally just went with a thin beard.

I picked up a goatee saver, despite all the snickering and giggling about what it looks like. It took me a few adjustments to get my goatee has narrow as I like it, but the results were impressive. It really does prevent you from accidentally cutting into your goatee too close, or making it uneven. Now I use it every day without thinking about it.

It might look funny while you're using it, but so do a lot of grooming tools. Seriously, look at yourself with a face full of shaving cream some time.

I had never had a goatee before, but tried a few months ago and upon shaping it for the first time, it was evident that I was going to have a problem with making it symmetrical, even, balanced, etc. I researched trimming methods and came across the GoateeSaver. This is really a great tool and you can get a very sharp and great goatee out of it. The product works great and it produces a goatee I would never be able to do on my own. It is quick and easy and the results are just great, I highly recommend it.

There are two points worth mentioning, however, not related to its ability to produce a quality goatee. The mouthpiece does not work very well with me. It does not conform to my face very well when using and it doesn't position itself well. I have found it much better to simply press it against my face. To get clean lines, you will need suction. You need to press it tightly against the skin and shave around it. This will ensure that the razor blade will be equally flush with the template on all sides and result in an even goatee. It does not seem to be possible to get a good hold on the face if you are just using the mouthpiece and I can't foresee how this would result in an even goatee.

I used the smallest setting and did not extend the size, however, if you choose to do this, it might be hard when you touch-up to find the exact setting again. There are no digits or markers when making the size adjustment to tell with precision how far you have turned the wheels and extended the sides. While you could simply leave it at the same size after each use, the wheels might turn slightly between usages or during cleaning and you could lose your former setting. To counteract this, I simply leave it on the unextended setting, but I envision it could be a problem if you extend it and would have to self-correct the dials by hand to the size of your goatee each time you want to touch-up.

I am extremely happy and I in no way had any experience with goatees, but it looks absolutely great.

My Dad has been 100% blind for the majority of his life and uses the Gotee Saver to trim his gotee. it works perfectly, and his gotee always looks awesome!

At first I was skeptical of this product.
However, I decided to give it a shot.

I'm one of those people who grows in nice facial hair but always seems to screw up trimming it and keeping it symmetrical.
Drives me crazy!

The device arrived very quickly and is packaged nicely.

The key, imo, is fitting it properly to your face by adjusting the three turning bars for top, middle and bottom.
With a little trial and error, i found the fit I was hoping for, put in the mouthpiece and lathered up to shave.

Once I got the hang of holding it flush to the face (not too hard, not soft enough to allow the edge of the razor to slip underneath the device) it was smooth sailing.

I've used it three times now and my goatee has never been so even.

Some guys are naturals at shaving straight, perfect goatees.
For the rest of us, there is GoateeSaver.

Kudos to the inventor.
The device is well produced, adjusts nicely and is easy to clean.

It's not magic.
But after some experimentation, I believe just about anyone will come to appreciate and use this device if they have trouble maintaining a goatee.

It's now a solid part of my grooming routine.
A great stocking stuffer and smile maker!

I've been using the Goatee Saver for about 2 months now and I can definitely say that it works. When I initially started using it, I used the mouthpiece mechanism as instructed but got inconsistent results ---- not sure why, perhaps an uneven bite or something? At any rate, I now just press it against my face with one finger without using the mouthpiece portion and the results have been excellent. I would definitely recommend it.

It gets your goatee started but you end up finishing the edges on your own without the GoateeSaver. It aligns your goatee on the center of your face and gives you the best symmetrical goatee one wants to have. I recommend this product but don't get your hopes up that this is going to be a quick fix and time saver you still have to clean it up for the best look that you want.

This product is a great idea, however it is designed for thin faces. May be if it was an order of magnitude more adjustable it would be a home run, but it isn't. Adjustments are minimal and awkward to down right hard. If the inventor comes out with a new model, maybe he will keep this in mind. Help a fat brother out bubba.

This is a handy symmetrical template for shaving and trimming your goatee. Part of it goes into your mouth on which you bite to hold it in place. It has three turnbuckle screws to adjust the width of the device. Once set the thing makes it easy to trim around your goatee for a nice symmetrical look. It's easy and works really well. Sure you could eye ball it, but tools make things easier to do with better results. This is just a tool. I like it.

This product is very simple and basic and it does its job with no problem. all you do is adjust the 3 metal bars on the front to the with you feel like is best for you and put the piece on your face and bit down on the mouth guard and start shaving and what you end up with is a perfectly outlined goatee! no more standing in the mirror for 10 min trying to get the perfect lines on each side to match and look good. it really can't get any more simple than this. Would i recommend this to a friend? YES!
