5.0 out of 5 stars morbid voodoo metal February 10, 2014

This is one of the darkest most evil albums ever. Equal parts primitive death, doom, and black metal, this has some of the heaviest riffs, darkest atmospheres and the most evil vocalist ive ever heard. The drums kinda sound....well, ill just put it plainly, the drums sound awful at first, theyre very mechanical due to an electronic drumset being used, but this is worth getting past, and this self titled press has a different mix and sounds a lot better. and actually after a while you don't even notice it. all you hear is the super heavy palm muted riffs, ritualistic atmosphere, and vocals that sound cursed and tortured. Recommended for listeners of old death and black metal who enjoy the more primitive bands. 5 stars all day.

4.0 out of 5 stars DOOM! November 2, 2003
This is a slow, doom and gloom record. Not for all tastes though, mind you. If you're looking for speedy, thrashy death metal that sounds ear-splitting, look somewhere else. This is SLOW death metal. I'm actually surprised it's on here. It also features a member of Napalm Death on backing vocals of the song "Acid Orgy". Slow grinding guitars and echoing vocals make this, in my opinion, a solid release. The sound quality isn't the best, but consider the source. This was back when underground labels were REALLY underground.
