Lovely collection, wish there was more!
I loved this collection of beautiful Goble illustrations! It gives you a nice selection of some of his artwork from several different books. I only wish that it included even more pictures and possibly larger prints. I might just buy the specific books of some of my favorites.. Other than that, I really enjoy having my own copy to look through!

This book is great if you want a vague introduction to the artwork of Warwick Goble, one of the illustrators of the Golden Age of book illustration. I say vague because, like so many Dover reprints of color plates, the colors are rather more greenish or grayish than the originals. I have some other reproductions of Goble pictures in other, more expensive collections of...

This book is great if you want a vague introduction to the artwork of Warwick Goble, one of the illustrators of the Golden Age of book illustration. I say vague because, like so many Dover reprints of color plates, the colors are rather more greenish or grayish than the originals. I have some other reproductions of Goble pictures in other, more expensive collections of pictures and the colors are off. Still, this could motivate you to find some of your favorite Goble pictures in more expensive, and therefore higher quality, productions.

Good collection. Representative of some of the great artists that have braved this subject. Children of all ages are very discerning critics.
