Annette Davis hasn't felt love from her husband, Pee Wee, in a long time. To ignite the fire back into their bedroom, she transforms into a new woman by losing weight, getting a total makeover, and buying an extensive wardrobe, but Pee Wee doesn't seem to notice. Annette discovers he is spending his time elsewhere and comes to the conclusion he is having an affair.

Louis Baines moves to Richland, Ohio to aid his sickly uncle and work in his restaurant. After his uncle's death, he inherits the restaurant and strives to make it a successful catering business. When Annette meets the handsome young caterer, he yearns for her, and the love affair commences. Overwhelmed from all the attention and pleasure she's receiving from Louis, Annette swirls out of control, jeopardizing her marriage and job. But when she discovers her young lover has an ulterior motive, she's already in too deep and turns to her best friend, Rhoda O'Toole for support. Annette is determined to resolve the mess she has created, but when the truth is revealed, it may be too late for her marriage and her career.

GOD AIN'T BLIND is a gripping novel of trust, love and communication. The characters are the heart of the novel and also the closeness and prying eyes of a small town. Each character and scene is vividly described as if the novel is based on facts.

GOD AIN'T BLIND is the fourth installment in Monroe's God series. If you've never read any of Mary Monroe's books of the God series, I suggest reading the first book, God Don't Like Ugly to understand the full meaning of the relationships between Rhoda, Annette and Pee Wee.

In GOD AIN'T BLIND by Mary Monroe, the memorable character, Annette Goode Davis, is back and she is thinner than ever. Gone are her signature mumu's. She has gone from a size 24 to a size 16. Everyone has noticed her significant weight loss, well that is... everyone except her husband, Pee Wee.

No matter what Annette does or wears, Pee Wee ignores her. Pee Wee has not touched Annette in over a year. Annette's feeling as though Pee Wee no longer desires her and angrily begins to suspect that Pee Wee is having an affair. Little does she know its worse than she imagined.

Louis Baines is a handsome, young caterer who is also the owner of a new local restaurant, OFF THE HOOK. When Annette walks into his establishment, she and Louis are instantly attracted to each other. Since Annette is feeling neglected at home and experiencing a sexual drought for a over a year, Louis' attention is right on time... or so she thinks. With the encouragement of her best friend, Rhonda, she enters an affair with Louis. She is only thinking within the moment, not the potential consequences down the line. She will soon discover that Louis has not been totally truthful with her.

GOD AIN'T BLIND by Mary Monroe was an exceptional read. It is an insightful look into relationships. It showed what can happen when there is a lack of communication in a relationship. Instead of talking with one another, they decide to go outside the relationship to have an affair. The question is...is it worth it? Is it really worth losing what you worked so hard to build? It is like playing with fire, someone will get hurt! The key lesson to be learned from reading this novel...COMMUNICATION. Remember just because you think no one sees when you are up to no good...GOD AIN'T BLIND, he sees all and hears all!

I agree with another reader that had read all the previous GOD series. This was boring and took me a loooooonnnngggng time to finish. I am glad I did not purchase it but instead checked it out from the library. It was so boring and such a hard read that I had to recheck it out to finish it just because I hate to leave anything undone. And I only restarted it 2 days before it was due for the sescond time.

Rhoda's character is still an idiot, screwing her husband's best friend in the laundry room right before he came in. Too close for comfort and that daughter of hers needed to have hands laid on her, BFF or no BFF. If her mother could not keep her in check, then Annette should have been allowed to do what she had to for her own sanity.

Pee Wee was keeping secrets and Annette was not bright enough to know that something was "too good to be true with Slick Willie." And that daggone Crazy Mary is a character by herself. It was nice to catch up on the characters, but I could have went without reading that book. I'll give the others a shot that are not part of the series and see if I can hold onto my love for her writing skills.

well, I just don't what to say I love all her books,but this was a let down.

This book is poorly written and quite vulgar in vocabulary and content. It is not even a well written trash novel. The author does not seem to be familiar with the topic or theme she was trying to convey and seemed to imagine the culture and class without researching the theme thoroughly. I wish I could return the book because I tried to read it for my book club because we try to support new authors and authors of color but I couldn't! I am an open and free spirited person who is not a prude but this one is not worth the time of day. Very insulting book!

I wish the story could have been written without all the raw language. Could see that the story may have value, but was too put-off by the language to get through it. Sorry.

To say this book is "awful" is an understatement. Next time, I'll be sure to read a sample before downloading. Wish I could delete it from my account as I did from my Kindle.

The first two books in the God series were enjoyable, but the cracks were obvious by the time God Don't Play came around. God Ain't Blind is engaging enough to read all the way through, but the dialogue is unrealistic and laughable. Annette's lost weight, but she's still as pathetic and weak as ever. Why she's still friends with Rhoda is beyond me since the woman clearly has no soul. Her spawn Jade is even worse, but I don't know whether to laugh or shake my head at Annette allowing her ridiculous attempts to bully her upset her. I see another book is set for release in a month or two. Hopefully it'll be a return to the writing style of the first two books, but I won't hold my breath.

I enjoyed this book. You have to have read all of the series to truly enjoy Annette and her life. Everybody has beaten up on Annette this time she gets to live a little. I am glad Pee-Wee was able to get himself together. Annette deserves some happiness. She has had a lifetime of hell. Mary I love your work and I am a huge fan. I have read all the series and this is the last installment. It is not until you get to page 200 that you find out what is going on with Annette's husband Pee Wee and some other revelations. Not a bad read but not gripping until the end.
