For as we share abundantly in Christ s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. 2 Corinthians 1:5
Life is hard. Really hard for some of us. We suffer, we grow discouraged, we struggle with sin.
But when we view our sufferings from the balcony of faith, we rest in the assurance that God never leaves us unloved or uncared for. His hope is a beacon of comfort.
Over these eight lessons, our journey will take us through a section of Scripture titled ''The God of All Comfort,'' in 2 Corinthians 1:3-7. The apostle Paul, the author of that letter and an expert when it came to suffering, lends insight and encouragement that God is not blind to our troubles. Along the way, we will meet faith-filled Christians who relied on faith despite their heartache. Through their stories and God's Word, we will experience the unmistakable handprint of a loving, merciful Savior.
For individuals and small groups, this Bible study offers hope provided by a God who relentlessly pursues us with His ultimate comfort.

I read this book on my own, not as part of a group, so rather than read a chapter and stop to discuss as a Bible study, I read it as a Christian Living book. I have to say that it shook me up a bit because it made me stop and think about my own life in a larger context. The women Donna Pyle introduces the reader to have had some rough times, and through them all, they've relied on their faith and God's constancy. Each chapter left me with a better perspective of my own life as a daughter of God. I'm in a better place because of it. "The God of All Comfort" is an inspiring, refreshing read, and I recommend it highly.
Donna Pyle has written an encouraging and uplifting Bible study. The book reminds us that when life falls apart or when super-storms batter our souls the place to go is to the God of all comfort. Based on 2 Corinthians 1:3-7, Pyle expertly weaves insights into Scripture with real stories of loss and pain. Along with accounts of losing a house to fire, a father to cancer, and a marriage to divorce, the book reminds us of the truth that God is right there in the disappointment and hurt. Whatever we're going through, God is there to comfort us.
My study group is currently using this book and it is helping us all to focus on God's comfort, wisdom, and strength and enabling each of us to become better comforters. I highly recommend The God of All Comfort as a study book for individuals or groups. It will open your eyes to the hope that only comes from God.
Very well written in a daily bible study format. Good for a group study or for individual study. True personal experiences are showcased to go along with each chapter. This is a wonderful book for anyone in need of reminding of God's grace in our lives. Even at our lowest points.
