Curb does it again,
By Patrick (Wisconsin, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: God Bless America (Audio CD)
Everyone please realize that LeAnn did not authorize this album even though Curb is her record company. This is the second time Curb has gone behind her back and released an album without her input. The music on this album is outstanding! The music gets 5 stars. Curb gets 0 stars. LeAnn is working on her own album but with Curb in the way she isn't able to release it. Don't judge LeAnn based on these songs. Some were recorded many years ago. LeAnn has grown as an artist since then and should be judged on what she is doing NOW. LeAnn is one of my favorite artists and THAT is why I will not buy this album. Shame on you Curb. Why not treat your artists with respect?

A patriotic tribute... to USA society.,
By Mirren Lucas "Mirren" (Queensland Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: God Bless America (Audio CD)
Although the release of this album was not supported by LeAnn Rimes herself... it is worth a listen to. The songs on this album are a patriotic look at the USA society as it currently stands... The highlight of the album is "Holiday in your Heart" which was in fact recorded by Rimes many years ago. This is the most upbeat and worth it song on the album. When listening to this album one cannot judge Rimes on the content, as she had no imput into the release of the album at all... what is good though it that the next album is due out 2002 and it will be a GREAT album! This album was given a star rating of 4 - only because it is LeAnn Rimes!! Always Mirren.

Family Listening,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: God Bless America (Audio CD)
It's wonderful to know there are still songs that uphold what is right and good in America. I can't believe there are people who don't like this album even though it may be some of her older songs. There are a couple of new gospel songs that are very uplifting, especially Sands of Time. This album is very much worth the time and money. C.T

I met LeAnn a Concert here in Ct. My wife and I 36 years married are fan club members and were invited to a meet & greet backstage before the show. She's was 17 at the time but mature and just a wonderful teen. Her dad Wilbur took a picture of us together.I have every one of her albums and the God bless America album is very moving but yet very enjoyable. No one shall be disappointed with any of LeAnn's songs.

Go Leann!,

To all you people giving this album less than 5 stars and saying things that aren't nice about her let me say something to you all "GET A LIFE!" This album sounds very nice and Leann sings damn well. Just because you can't sing like Leann, aren't famous, and don't have a lot of money...don't be jealous and take it out on her. I'm not a huge Leann Rimes fan, but this album sounds nice...don't be criticizing her because you're jealous! I was upset when Leann stuck up for Faith Hill on the CMA award incident by posting a rude statement against Carrie Underwood implying that Carrie did not deserve to win. That was wrong of Leann, and I believe that Carrie should have won and deserved the award. However, we are juding this album for musical ability, not because of what the artist did.

Old Recordings Rehashed Into A New CD.,
By A Customer
This review is from: God Bless America (Audio CD)
Very disappointing, It's just old recordings rehashed onto a new CD and I heard that LeAnn who is a wonderful singer didn't even have any say about this CD being released! Also there aren't enough patriotic songs! I really hope that LeAnn makes a new CD of all newly recorded Patriotic songs and another one that is all Inspirational Gospel songs!

God Bless LeAnn,
By Thomas James Samson (Perth , WA, Australia.) - See all my reviews

The release of this album leaves everybody wondering about the motives behind Curb releasing it in the first place. The front cover of the album itself leaves alot to be desired. The picture is as old as the recordings of the songs. There aren't many country albums that can't find themselves in my CD player, but I am not sure how many people are going to be happy to pump up the volume on this album. Don't get me wrong, LeAnn Rimes is one of the most talented people to emerge on the music scene. But this CD is the exception. God Bless LeAnn. Curb is out to ruin her.

OLD MATERIAL, BUT STILL A GREAT VOICE!,
By A Customer
This review is from: God Bless America (Audio CD)
I love Leann and her voice is exceptional.....probably one of the best female vocalist out there today among Martina Mcbride, Trisha Yearwood and my personal favorite Alison Krauss. However Leann needs to progress in her music and stop from reaching back. A cover of an old standard from time to time would be tasteful, but to release the same old rehashed material is beginning to bore me and many of her fans. Leann please take CONTROL of your career and look to Janet Jackson as an example! We still love you!

Uninspired for an inspirational album,
By
This review is from: God Bless America (Audio CD)
Not so sure why Curb is releasing this album. It's understandable that many artists and record companies are churning up patriotric songs in the wake of the New War but to release an album of patriotric/inspirational songs is a little too much. Many of these songs have seen the light of day before and can be found on Rimes' earlier CDs (e.g. the title track, "Amazing Grace," "I Believe," "National Anthem," and "The Lord's Prayer"). So only about half the CD is actually unreleased material. The songs here either fall under the patriotric rubric or they belong to the inspirational/Christian music corpus. Why in the world is Curb perennially re-cycling older and released material by LeAnn Rimes is beyond me. In the long run, this could serious jepoardise her career as fans grow tired of buying "new" CDs by the singer only to find that most of the ongs are dated or have been released. The production, mostly helmed by daddy Rimes, is extremely dated. "Amazing Grace" has so much echo that it makes you think: "Did they record it in their own kitchen?" Most of the songs are just straight readings of the old standards, with daddy Rimes adding little innovation to how the songs should be played. HINT: time to get a new producer. The only high point of this CD is Rimes' splendid vocals. She shows us that she can still hit the high notes of "God Bless America" and still tackle with great emotions an inspirational story song "A Broken Wing." "Middle Man" (referring to Jesus the middle man amongst the three crosses) is sung with conviction as Rimes proclaims her love for the Savior. This is certainly not Rimes at her best: dated and uninspired production with mostly released material. Buy it only if you are a fan or else maybe wait for her actual new CD of new materials.

Leann Rimes is a hack! I've farted better music! And plus there are way to many I love America songs out there today. We get the idea!! I enjoy living in this country as much as anyone else but come on, an entire album of crap is how you repay this country! I say we deport her.
