Book Description

December 1, 2001

"I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free,

And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me,

And I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today,

'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,

God Bless the U.S.A."

There are few songs that speak as strongly to America's patriotic pride as Lee Greenwood's classic "God Bless the U.S.A.". America is a land filled with courageous, giving people. People who fight for what is right. People who won't tolerate bullies. People who are there in times of crisis. And people who lend a hand. We are a people who are proud to call ourselves Americans.

God Bless the U.S.A. is a celebration of the legacy of freedom and the determination that made the U.S.A. the country it is. From John Adams' telling his wife about the great decision to make the colonies "free and independent States" to Abraham Lincoln's resolve that the "government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from the earth"; from the remarkable spirit of Chicago after the city was destroyed by fire, to Martin Luther King's dream that we all join hands and sing "Free at last, free at last, Thank God Almighty, we are free at last," the book portrays the indomitable spirit that has characterized Americans for more than 225 years.

Includes the CD of Lee Greenwood's modern classic "God Bless the USA"!,

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of God Bless the U.S.A. will be given to AmeriCares, the world's largest private relief organization, which provides emergency response and supports long-term healthcare programs in the United States and 137 countries around the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Freedom never comes easy....., November 8, 2003
This review is from: God Bless The USA (Hardcover)
Though small in size this is a great book. When you get tired of the left-wing dribble about this War,as well as previous ones;reach for this book and be reminded of what it means to love Country and Freedom.Lee is also small in size, but a giant when it comes to appreciation for the freedom and privilege he enjoys living in America.Dont be fooled into thinking that Lee was jumping on the bandwagon of 9/11. He wrote and recorded this in 1984.Every time I hear Lee sing this song ;I am reminded of a recording by Gordon Sinclair back in the 60's,I believe, titled "The Americans".There are a lot of people here in Canada could do well by listening to it!

This review is from: God Bless The USA (Hardcover)
This little book recites the lyrics of the author's award winning hit song that is enjoying a revival in popularity since September 11. It also includes other patriotic quotes from American history. The best part is the CD with the song. Help
support the AmeriCares charity and buy this book.
