5.0 out of 5 stars Great collection!
I don't know what the previous reviewer is taking about! Natalie Grant's stirring rendition of the Start Spangled Banner is worth the price of the CD.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sad to say
This is some of the worst music I have ever heard. The first (Lee Greenwood/God Bless the USA) is the only song worth listening to. It was very inexpensive and now I understand why. Not worth any amount of money in my opinion. Some great song titles, but the preformers do not do them justice.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice, not great, and not particularly patriotic, July 3, 2011

This is a collection of songs sung/covered by contemporary Christian artists who were at the apex of their popularity around 1990. The songs could be more accurately be characterized as "gospel", slightly bent towards Americana. The only thing patriotic about the nice arrangement of "I Can Only Imagine" (a thought-provoking gospel lyric) is that it's straight-up country western style music. The only patently patriotic numbers included here are Lee Greenwood's "God Bless The USA" and, of course, the American National Anthem, well represented by Natalie Grant.

Not to say the songs are unpleasant, just labeled wrong. If you're looking for some good patriotic music to play at your next July 4th or Memorial Day gathering, check out American Patriot, a classic country album not afraid to wave the Stars-n-Stripes, or bargain-priced instrumental album A Salute to America, which has nice background arrangements of popular tunes associated with the holidays.

I would only recommend you buy this album if you're really interested in one of the showcased artists. Otherwise just download the Greenwood and Grant tracks.
