cutting edge techno trance metal........,

If you think AC/DC is still at the forefront of where music is headed........... you wont understand what your hearing on this CD. Of course, I suggest you still buy it for the sake of expanding your horizons..........
On a more serious note, God Complex offers an exciting journey for those music lovers with an eclectic appeal. You'll find a bit of everything in this recording. Solid bass driven metal riffs interlaced with atmospheric synthesizers, clean vocals, processed vocals and industrial style guitars make for and interesting mix of what could be the next thing in music. Just like the AC/DC fan, if your a metal fan, Trance fan or old school industrial fan that doesn't mind expanding your horizons a bit............. God Complex is a must have.

Everything you would expect from John Bechdel,

Considering John Bechdel has been providing keyboard duties for Ministry and Killing for the last 20 years, as well as stints in Prong, Murder Inc, and more recently Acension of the Watchers, one could expect his main project False Icons would carry a heavy keyboard-layden industrial sound.
Musically, there is absolutely nothing new here. You have your standard distorted guitar riffs with awesome trancy synth sounds, live and sampled drums, as well as processed vocals. John does all the instruments on the album including singing except for the live drums and some keys which his band members handle. His singing is strange but perfect for this music. His vocals can be best compared to Mark Heal of Cubanate and C-Tec fame. I mean the two guys sound almost exactly alike and thier respective bands do as well. If you are a fan of Ministry circa 1992-present, Killing Joke during the Pandemonium era, and Prong during the Beg To Differ era, then you will love this. I imagine this would have been released on Chicago's Wax Trax if the label were still around because it is right up that alley. Good industrial. Highlights? The SYNTHS! |
