A MUST-READ!,
By
This review is from: The God Conspiracy: The Path from Superstition to Super Consciousness (Paperback)
I've been waiting to read a book like this for quite a long time!!
I think nobody has questioned the role of religious and political institutions as gracefully and wisely as Osho does in this book. `Do not believe anything unless you have experienced it. Go on questioning, however long it takes. Religions are not capable of answering sceptical questions, they want only believers.' When I read these lines from the preface for the first time, I said to myself: `I have to buy this book!' Religious institutions as well as politicians need believers. They create the picture of salvation and protection if you are loyal to unrealistic dogmas. The believers (actually the whole Humanity) that Osho mentions only find frustration because the real Truth is far away from those beliefs-concepts that the mind (Ego) recreates. The only Truth that any human being recognises is the one that it is connected to your soul, your pure essence that in fact it is part of the Unique Essence of the Universe. And I completely agree with Osho when he says that meditation, silence, no-mind (no beliefs but only experience) opens the door to the real dance with the Existence- it is when you really experience life to the fullest! This is one of the rare books that have the power to transform your life for good. Definitely A MUST-READ! Thanks Osho for your inspirational words!

The God Conspiracy exposes the age-old alliance of the politician and the priest against human freedom, joy, pleasure, comfort and luxury. The politician pays homage to the priest in order to legitimize his power, and the priest enforces the rules of individual behavior - all in the name of God. It is one extreme to believe in God; it is another extreme not to believe in God. Osho is not about `belief, ' he is all about `experience' -- so that in the ideological debate about the existence of a supreme being, both atheism and theism become irrelevant. It is through meditation that one can come to discover the universal truth of one's own consciousness -- and through this direct experience, to know that life itself is enough unto itself, does not need the fiction of any god. Once this is experienced inside at one ' s deepest core, one will never project the same superstitions again. Authentic living , free of divisive belief systems based on fear and greed, does not need any god, does not need any priest, and does not need any prayer. All that it needs is an exploration of one's inner world , and a recognition of that inner world as the place where all divisions and belief systems disappear. That exploration Osho calls Zen, going inwards, reaching to the very point where we are connected to all that is divine in existence. This experience and understanding creates a new human being and consciousness, which is so urgently needed today. Books like The God Delusion by British biologist Richard Dawkins and God is Not Great by Christopher Hitchens all demonstrate a growing understanding that the fictitious father figure of God might not be the most intelligent arrangement to determine the course of human affairs. This book brings a transformation -- making us aware of the freedom and responsibility we have for ourselves and the environment of which we are part - here - now The God Conspiracy: The Path from Superstition to Super Consciousness

Osho is wonderful! This book is insightful, inspirational, and humorous as are all of his books, which are not his writings but live teachings to his disciples copied down in print. Osho was Totally Enlightened. He says what Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, etc. said but in a new style for a new age. Very positive. At the end of each chapter is a meditation on merging into the Oneness of Existence. A must have for those seeking authentic enlightenment.

This book is a huge eye opener. Of course, if you have read any OSHO books, you know that each one shows you a very different perspective to life. After reading this, my whole view on "God" and his place within existence changed. It opened me up to a lighter way of being in existence. This is not a book for closed minded people, for in all likely hood it will only upset you. However, that too is a sign that one's beliefs aren't on solid ground, for if they were, then this book would only make one laugh, not angry or scared.

I love Osho's no nonsense direct approach to religion and the idea of God. He explains well why the idea of God separates you from truth and what you are, and he details why religion and superstition is so dangerous. But he also goes on to explain the dangers of atheism, of not having meditation, which raises awareness and consciousness. I wish this were required reading, globally.

This is a collection of talks from Osho. It is well organized and easy to read. The content is thoughtful, liberating and refreshing. Osho is an academic scholar of philosophy, and many of the references and ideas here are famous yet often cryptic. This work sets these ideas in context in a straightforward manner. An amazing read. There are many elegant passages and much humor. A joy.
