Six weeks into separation from my wife, I was given this book by a dear Aunt. "Oh great," I thought, "another coffee table book." My faith in God had been depleted from what seemed like endless, but unanswered, prayer. By the middle of the book my faith had been restored, and I repented for my weak faith and lack of trust in the Lord. My situation has not changed, but I know that God already knows the outcome, and it is what is best for me, period. God does care, God does know what's best for us, and always...always... God IS in control. If you or someone you care for is in the middle of a life crisis, this book, and the Bible, will be the greatest comfort you will find.

Truth that heals when most needed is simple. This book has a theme that is so simple, yet powerful. It's one that we can never be reminded of too often. Dr. Stanley does a commendable job in driving this theme to the heart of his readers. That simple, yet profound truth is that God is always in control of every situation, He knows what's best, and all things work together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

Dr. Stanley makes the point that people used by God are the ones who have had to suffer some rather difficult experiences. This gives them credibility in the eyes of seekers. They speak from experience when other people approach them about their problems. There's a lot of reassurance in this power-charged little book. It's easy to read. Every bit of it is solid wisdom from the Bible.

The photographs in this book alone would be worth the purchase price. Dr. Stanly did his own photography and he did an outstanding job of it.

Besides the beautiful pictures, we are blessed with some very Godly wisdom telling us that God is in control of everything in our lives. Romans 8:28 tells us that everything works together for our good. This book expands on that subject.

Dr. Stanley says instead of complaining or crying about our circumstance, we should ask God "What is your goal for me in this trial? How should I respond to this valley experience?
He has something to teach us from each experience.

As we go through our hardships, it is great to know there are many scriptures to help us. You will find many of these in Dr. Stanley's book.

During one of the hardest storms in my life, this book lifted my spirits, helped confirm my beliefs and let me know that God is truly in control. No matter the state of your life, calm waters or turmoil, this book will stir your soul and remind you of Gods plan for your life. Each time I read it, I find something new to support my life. I am purchasing two copies for friends who are going through trials....and aren't we all at some point going through trials?

I've never been disappointed in Dr. Stanley's books. This one is exceptional. Perhaps it is partly that I needed the reminder during a time of things seeming to go wrong. Our loving God never lets anything happen that He isn't in control of. He uses everything to benefit us. Don't dispair - God is in control.

Rover1 asks in his/her review if " God is in control of the abortionists hand as he rips the baby from the womb". The way he/she structured the question reminds me of the old Groucho Marx joke " have you stopped beating your wife?" It is a "no-win" question, and reveals Rover's misunderstanding of Christian theology.. If you say "yes", then God becomes an accomplice to murder(abortion). If you say "no", then God has no control. The question should be: Is it within God's will that the abortionist be given the opportunity to abort the baby?' This places the guilt on the proper shoulders ( the abortionist's) , but still recognizes God's omniscience/omnipotence. God does not want the abortionist to do it, but gives him the free will to make that choice. Of course, the abortionist must answer for his evil actions later, but that's a whole different theological topic.
Hope this clears up Rover's bad theology.

God is in Control by Charles F. Stanley delivers in two ways. First, it is a good source of meditation for those times in one's live that seem chaotic and out of control. Second, it has beautiful photography and art work. Dr. Stanley is one of my favorite Christian pastors and writers. In this small book Dr. Stanley points the worried and anxious to the Biblical promises of God. In times of trouble it is hard to let go of the idea that we are not in control of the situation. This book will help the reader focus on the God, who is always there. Finally, Dr. Stanley is an accomplished amatuer photographer and this book contains many nice photographs that lend to the book a sense of place.

This is a wonderful book that just opens up some insight into the reality of our relationship with God. He is so great and yes in the end He really does have all control if we just allow it

I originally bought this book because of the title. My husband's job came to an end and my sister is going through a nasty divorce.I have highlighted & journaled my way through this short little book and I have purchased several additional copies to have on hand to share with others who are struggling. This book can apply to any of life's many struggles - including grieving. To know that God truly is in control of everything can makde the most difficult times a little bit better. This is a book that you will re-read for years to come. I recommend a copy for yourself and one or two to share. I hope my sister has read her copy!

THIS BOOK IS SUCH A POWERFUL BOOK. A SHORT BOOK THAT GET STRAIGHT TO THE POINT AND IMPACT IS UNBELIEVABLE. ONCE YOU START IT IS HARD TO STOP. EVEN AFTER YOU READ IT THE FIRST TIME YOU WANT TO READ IT OVER & OVER AGAIN. DR. CHARLES STANLEY IS ONE THE VERY BEST PASTOR'S TO DELIVER THE TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD. I HAVE BEEN A CHRISTIAN FOR MANY YEARS BUT HAVE ALWAYS STRUGGLED WITH TURNING IT ALL OVER TO GOD AND THIS BOOK OPENED MY EYES AND GAVE ME INSIGHT AS TO WHY. I AM PASSING MY BOOK AROUND TO LOVED ONES SO THEY CAN SEE THE LIGHT!
