A true but harsh look at a horrific event . . . (warning) Pictures are graphic,

This review is from: And God Cried (Hardcover)
This book has some of the most honest pictures I have ever seen of the holocaust. The writing in the book itself is good and informative (it had details of events I hadn't heard of before). But it is the pictures that will touch something deep inside of you...revulsion, sadness, regret, anger, compassion, etc. Be prepared, for this is not a book for the faint at heart or anyone with rose colored glasses. This is a look at the cruelty humanity can reach when left unchecked. This book is a lesson in wisdom that we may learn from brutality and prevent it at all costs. All that said, it is still one of my favorite books even though I have owned it for 12 years and hardly open it now. All I have to do is look at the binding on my bookshelf and remember the lessons inside.I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about this episode in human history. |
