From Library Journal
This splendid book on prayer, both for the average layperson and for clergy or religious, begins with the premise that everyone is always praying unceasingly, because God hears everyone's cries--even silent, unconscious cries, even those of unbelievers and of the comatose. Wolff also perceptively discusses why we sometimes prefer to think of God as deaf and to be deaf ourselves by misusing prayer. The examples he provides of authentic conscious prayer are very deep. This revised version of a book originally published in 1984 (Arena Lettres) is highly recommended for seminary and public libraries.
