What a great CD!,

What's good about it?Instruction employs an old rock standard on "Great"; faded guitars leading into a full fledge wall of sound. It a boastful song about that brags you're nothing, and they're great (well, not you specifically). Meaty riffs can be found on "Lean on You". The verses accentuate the vocals and push the rhythm into the backround. Errie, distant vocals over electronic drum beats are prominent on "Are You Happy". I can hear a little Sevendust on this track. The vocals take a melodic turn on "I'm Dead". Even the guitar solo has a melodic flow to it. This could be a strong radio track. A chunky bass line dualing with the same guitar line starts off "Breakdown". The pitch level of the vocals is raised a bit, which makes for a powerful chorus section. A little Middle Eastern flare is added to the fret work on "Feed the Culture", while a bluesy hook controls "Your Punk Sucks". The 7+ minute "God Doesn't Care" starts off with an effective opening lick and builds to an intense chorus. Anything bad? No. Bottom Line What a great CD! Instruction come out of left field and hit a home run (sorry about the baseball referrence, but hey it's summer!). There style can be describes as straight rock rhytms mixed with indutrial style vocals. Prong and Sevendust come to mind. Be mindful of the lyrics as well. Most of their songs contain political and social views we should all give some thought to.

The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because not EVERY song is good, and on top of that, it took me about 2 months to like this cd. I dont exactly know why i didn't like this at first, but now that I've opened up, it's definitely some bad@$$ hard music. Great, Lean On You, Are You Happy?, Breakdown are the best songs. The wierd thing is the vocalist can go from having a great hard singing voice to a slightly annoying high pitched screams at certain points in almost every song. Never seen someone with such a good voice try and kill it by screamin like a girl, but oh well, if you can get past that you'll love this cd.

New York based Instruction brings REAL rock to the stage. A mixture of bandmates from Errortype:11, Garrison, and Quicksand have come together to make one of the best rock records in a long time. Instruction creates a beautiful collaberation of hard rock guitar riffs, powerful lyrics and perfected melodies. The album is also has somewhat of a variety going from underground punk to alternative to old fashioned metal. So basically, its hard to find something on this record you WON'T like. Definetly, "God Doesn't Care" will not disappoint.

This band feature members of ErrorType:11 and Tom Capone (Quicksand/Handsome). Just with a line like that you know this CD rocks...I've always like ET:11 and Tom's guitar playing is always great. Not one bad song this CD. I have both earlier Instruction CD/EP so most of this song I've heard before. Stephen Pekins (Jane's Addiction) plays on "Feed the Culture" which he added percussion to the song which wasn't in the earlier version on EP. Any fans of Quicksand/Rival Schools/ET:11 will enjoy. Instruction will be the next big thing!!!

First off Arties voice is one of the best i'v heard in a long while. His screaching vocals to his great melodic voice, u cant get much better. His lyrics arnt only deep but true with outstanding meaning. The guitars in this album are also excellent from rifts to solid hard full sound it was very very good. Ibelive Instruction is here to stay for a long while. If you like Nirvana you'll love Instruction.

i hate it when people diss a band just because they sound "mainstream". do they have to play extreme, underground gore grind or toughguy NYHC to be good? let me say right up front that this bad boy DOES sound a tad "mainstream" and just might get plastered all over MTV and [...], but let me tell you: it ain't gonna happen. why? because they got enough of that non-mainstream post-HC vibe going on that doesn't fly well with that type of crowd. imagine a mix of quicksand/handsome/rival schools, add a little bit of that mainstream accessability and catchiness, let simmer, and you've got yourself an awesome rocked-out post-hardcore record that sounds just like there might be a guy from creed in there playing bass or something. ;) just messin' witcha. my point is this: if you like the aforementioned holy trinity, and don't mind your band sounding a bit mainstream ('cause in the end it all comes down to good songs, and a good song is a good song), then by all means do yourself a favor and buy this baby. i'm not gonna lie, this album does have its ups and downs, but which doesn't? luckily, the ups more than make it up for the occasional downs, so i'm giving it 5 stars anyway, as songs like "great", "pissed me off again" or "your punk sucks" are worth your money alone. don't get me wrong, there's not one bad song on this baby. it's just that some are awesome, some are great, and few are just good. but if you see this band all over magazines and TV, then [...]... the hell just froze over. don't be narrowminded, go check it out.

Selling themselves short,
This review is from: God Doesn't Care (Audio CD)
With the line up that this band boasts, I was seriously disappointed with this record. Everything from the lyrics to the chord progressions to the hooks and choruses scream "play me on the radio".Im not as surprised that Artie Shepard from Errortype:11 had a hand in this as I was to see Tom Capone and Joe Grillo's named as co conspirators. While I am in no way going to judge the motives of the band,as everyone is entitled to live off their tunes if they are presented with the opportunity and if they want to ape carbon copy bands like Sevendust or Godsmack ,then so be it. But fans of any of the members previous bands would be well advised to not be duped into buying this.

i'm gonna stop listening to critics and publications, because NME said this was like the best thing to come from America last year. um... not even close bud. if you told nickelback to get just a little bit harder, this is what they'd sound like. plus the whole hating God thing is soooo 15 years ago.

I saw these guys open up for korn and they are terrible. They also had the need to impose their wisdom on us by saying something like George W. Bush can s*ck my f***ing d**k - What a bunch of uneducated idiots. I guess my only satisfaction is that in a couple of years they will be asking me if I want to SuperSize my order.
