First a corporate executive, then leader of a global spiritual movement, today Tom Zender writes and speaks about discovering the power of our inner spiritual nature in work and business: raising consciousness for organizational integrity, conscious commerce and economic peace. His work embraces all people who work at any job and at any level - from individual workers to supervisors, managers, directors, executives and board members.

He held management positions at General Electric and Honeywell, and Tom was a senior vice president in publicly held corporations, NYSE and NASDAQ listed.

While President & CEO of Unity, a trans-denominational spiritual organization, he led its expansion to serve more than 3 million members.

Tom's corporate board positions have been with NASDAQ, Toronto Stock Exchange and Over-The-Counter listed public companies. His nonprofit board positions have included the Association for Global New Thought, Ottawa University and the Forum for Corporate Directors, and the Evolutionary Leaders.

I`ve spent my professional life encouraging employers to improve their work environment. I've dealt daily with employees who are not motivated to perform at their best. Now I help people evaluate a potential new workplace. I met Tom and his wife Wendy many years ago. We share a common passion in helping people find more meaning in their life through their work. Tom Zender is a "new thought" leader who urges us to change our thinking about how business is conducted. He points out that in order to compete in the globalized economy, all people must function at their full potential He makes a strong case for improving the work environment by providing more opportunity to express our spiritual selves. He gives plenty of history and examples to convince the reader (and business leaders) that it makes economic sense to enable employees to find meaning through their work. Tom lays out for us the concept of a "spiritual transaction" which is an interaction that maximizes the potential of all involved. As Deepak Chopra points out in his introduction, many of us are seeking a new way of ending the `"tyranny of stress" in the workplace and wanting meaningful work that gives us deep satisfaction. Hopefully Zender's words, along with the many who came before him, will create a groundswell of change in the workplace.

I have been practicing general dentistry for over 40 years. I found Toms book fascinating, couldnt put it down. Possibly because I have known Tom since our senior year in high school. In fact we lived in the same rental house for a while. Tom and his family upstairs and my family downstairs.

I am very proud of Toms achievments and his knowledge of the spiritual assets he teaches in this book. Wish I had been exposed to these concepts when I was beginning my practice. However I will endeavor to use them in the few years I will still be practicing and I know they will help me acheive greater success and a smoother running office. Everyone should read this book.
