Book Description

December 2005

“I am the god of hellfire, and I bring you . . .”

In 1968, wearing a flaming helmet and sacrilegious robes, Arthur Brown hit the number-one slot worldwide with his hit single “Fire.” The English singer has rained a volcano of influence on pop culture ever since. From the legendary UFO club in London’s psychedelic heyday, to working with Pink Floyd and the Pretty Things, Arthur Brown has an amazing story to tell.

3.0 out of 5 stars Arthur, not the author should have written this, January 7, 2009
This review is from: The God of Hellfire: The Crazy Life and Times of Arthur Brown (Hardcover)
I had the great pleasure to get to know Arthur when he lived in Austin, Texas. He is truly an original and much under appreciated performer. I looked forward to reading this book, and in fact did enjoy reading it, though there are numerous errors. Nevertheless, it does help reveal a unique singer, poet, and vital part of the Sixties scene. I think he should tell his stories in his own words!
