5.0 out of 5 stars Are you dealing with insecurity?
Finally! This book is your much needed help if you feel insecure about how you were created. The author stresses that only 10% of your beauty is on the outside, the other 90% is on the inside... waiting to be discovered! God Made Me Beauty-full is your road map to confidence! Why do I know the author is telling the truth? Because she's my Mom! I grew up being taught...

I really wanted to give rave reviews for this book, but I just couldn't do it. The beginning chapters started the book out in a very organized and inspirational direction. I bought this book and started reading it immediately. I think this book does a valuable service. I thought just last week about killing myself. I even told someone about it. I just felt useles and hopeless. When I read the poem at the beginning, I knew this book was the message of hope that I have been (literally) praying for. I am thankful that I took the time to order it.

I was blessed to attend a class on Building Self Esteem which was taught by Sis. McFaddin in July 1998(Full Gospel Conference). I purchased this book following the class and three years later it is still a good resource tool. Psalm 139:14 " I am Fearfully and Wonderfully made" was birthed into my spirit through the teaching of this Woman of God. Sis. McFaddin may God continue to richly bless you and feed your spirit as you deliver what God gives you for his people.

I really wanted to give rave reviews for this book, but I just couldn't do it. The beginning chapters started the book out in a very organized and inspirational direction. It laid the groundwork and described the historical conditions that created the rooted reasons of why so many women of African descent have low self esteem. It even went into a little detail of how to recognize some of the symptoms that indicate low self worth. Then the book gets a little off the subject. The author goes into this somewhat biographical (family tree - like) tribute to all of her ancestors that paved the way for being the person that she is today. Then it gets a little preachy about how to date, what kind of man to marry, how to raise children, etc. Not that any of this information is bad.......we all need that kind of knowledge. But the latter half of the book just really got a little off key for the true subject at hand.

After reading the first half of the book that gave such an EXCELLENT background on recognizing self-inferiority, I would have liked to have read a follow up (solution) on how a woman can now begin the healing process of her wounded spirit......how she can now begin to rebuild her self esteem. I just didn't get that from this material (sorry, Mrs. McFaddin). I recommend the following Christian reading materials for a woman that is trying to get delivered from low self esteem. One book is "Mirror Mirror On the Wall, Seeing Yourself through God's Eyes" by Pastor Wendy Treat ([...]) which is an excellent resource. It's not sold in stores, so you will have to go to the website and order it directly from the church. Another awesome book is "How to Succeed at Being Yourself" by Joyce Meyers. Actually Joyce Meyers has a few good books about self esteem and rejection and she explains how to allow God to heal you. Joyce Meyers books can be bought through amazon.com.
