Confidence in Your Faith,
By Eric Abel (San Diego, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The God Questions: Exploring Life's Great Questions About God (Paperback)
I've gone to church my entire life but I still have regular doubts and questions about God and the Bible. This book really helps me to get my thinking straight. Whenever I question something I can reference The God Questions and get quick answers. This book has helped me gain more confidence in my faith. I've read it 3 times and everyone in my family uses it as a regular reference tool. One month I used it as a daily devotional and it worked great. It was amazing how the readings related to my daily life. I plan to lead a small group in my neighborhood someday and the study questions in the back of the sections will make that easy to accomplish. This is a very good book.

As a veteran pastor of over 25 years I found The God Questions personally helpful. I ordered multiple copies to be handed out to others as gifts. I found the format conducive to getting the message out. The content itself was superior. The authors understand the Bible and the cultural context in which we serve. I can whole heartedly endorse and encourage others to not only go through it as an individual but as groups and even churches. Thanks for a book that exceeded my expectations.

Our church did a whole small group series using this book, and it really impacted everyone in our group. The people in our small group had different views when we first started the study; some weren't sure what they believed and others were already Christians. By the end of the study, we all felt more better able to make informed decisions about our faith. I was a Christian when I started this series, but I still had questions about why God allows suffering, and about the accuracy of the Bible. When we finished, I was much, much more confident about the Bible, the facts behind Jesus' identity and resurrection, and I'm much more comfortable answering questions for others.
This book actually inspired me to take up graduate studies in apologetics! A big thank you to Hal Seed for writing a book with clear, fact-based answers about God and Christianity!

Everyone has God Questions,
By TnT (Southern CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The God Questions: Exploring Life's Great Questions About God (Paperback)
Who doesn't have questions about God? I loved Mr. Seed's take on the most common questions asked by Christians and non-Christians alike. I really think many folks (myself included) do not ask their questions for fear of seeming disrespectful or skeptical. This book acknowledges the questions, answers them, and still compliments the asker for having the courage to ask! I love that the Bible and Christianity has answers to these questions, and it's not afraid to provide them. Go ahead--bring them on! Mr. Seed's book can handle it, and apparently so can God.

Answers You Can Understand,

This review is from: The God Questions: Exploring Life's Great Questions About God (Paperback)
The God Questions is a very helpful resource for people who truly have questions about God, who He is, and what His connection is with the human race. Presented in a logical and unbiased manner, it explores major religions and makes you think about each of them - why they do or don't "work." It may challenge the reader to really take a look at his or her own ideas about God. It's definitely worth it for anyone who is looking for a logical take on the question of God - His existence, His character and His attitude toward His creation...and the implications therein.

What an easy way for a Christian to give explanations for their faith. This is a book you keep as a reference guide for years to come. It's an easy read for someone who just wants straight forward answers to some big questions. This belongs in any Christian or "seeker" library. I recommend getting one for yourself and one to give away.

Opening the Door,
This review is from: The God Questions: Exploring Life's Great Questions About God (Paperback)
As a long time Christian working in the corporate world I was told it was "inappropriate" to share my faith with others and for many years I let that belief extend to ALL aspects of my life. I developed the philosophy of many non-committed Christians that if people wanted to know about my faith they would ask. BUT, The God Questions changed all of that for me. This is THE book that taught me not only the answers to the big questions about God but also that people want to know and all I have to do is give them the book to start the dialogue. Thank you Hal and Dan for helping my share my faith and grow my commitment! LF

Why You Should Read this Book,
By Hal Seed "Dr. Hal Seed, founding pastor of Ne... (Oceanside, California) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: The God Questions: Exploring Life's Great Questions About God (Paperback)
You should read The God Questions if you have questions about God or if you have friends who are asking questions about God.
The God Questions answers the eight most frequently asked questions: 1. How can you know if God is real? 2. How can you know if the Bible is true? 3. What do the ten largest religions believe about God? 4. If God is so big, strong, and good, why is there so much that's bad in the world? 5. Isn't Christianity just a crutch for weak people? 6. What will happen to those who have never heard of Jesus? 7. If Christianity is true, why is the church full of hypocrites? 8. What happens to me when I die? For ten years, Dan and I did surveys of the questions people have about God. People of deep faith, little faith, and no faith have all told us they have found the book very helpful. Soon after we released the book, a septuagenarian said to me, "You have answered the questions I've had about God all my life!" That same day, a first-time church attender said, "I read your book and it answered every one of my questions about God." Dan and I wrote The God Questions as a forty-day experience, similar in format to Rick Warren's The Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For? (Purpose Driven Life). The book is divided into six weeks of readings with six days of questions per week. Each day's read is three to six pages in length and written for real people with real questions. We hope you will find this book to be a valuable resource in your search for answers to life's most pressing questions. |
