Book Description

A beautiful wife and daughter, a rewarding and successful career, community accolades as a benefactor of all mankind; Dr. Miles Trebuchet appears to be on the fast track to dizzying heights of both personal and professional success – until unspeakable, horrific tragedy strikes at the heart of his existence.

Looking for answers, but facing the silence of a world accustomed to tragedy, Miles finds himself stripped bare before the universe, railing against cosmic injustice while asking the age-old question, “Why?” Not really expecting any answers, Miles is shocked and bewildered by the response he receives – an answer that is as much mystery as it is resolution, one that hints at hope and salvation not only for himself, but for his beloved wife and daughter as well. But for Miles, it's a response steeped in fear, one which points him down a dark and foreboding path, a road he has sworn never to travel.

Now Miles is on a quest for meaning, finding himself willing for the first time to seek answers wherever they might exist – at any cost. To find his answers, and to possibly save the family he thought he had lost, Miles must confront both his own mortality and elemental forces of darkness. And he must make a choice, a choice between what he has always known and what he now suspects – and fears – could be the real truth.

In the end, Miles finds himself faced with only a single question, will he succumb to evil and falter before the face of fear, or will he find redemption and salvation in love?

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Awesome!!! October 31, 2012

I have only read about 41% of this book and I catch myself "skimming" through the pages trying to find out what happens next and I have to make myself slow down so as not to miss one single word! What a powerful story so far! I am an advocate for the rights of the unborn and the unwanted and that is what made me download this book. But as I have started reading the book I see what a powerful story this is of the redemptive power of the cross and of the love of Jesus Christ. I would encourage everyone to read this will not be disappointed!!! (and I haven't even finished it yet)!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read! October 16, 2013
By M. Derr

This book was awesome, however I could have used a little less 'bible thumping' in there... I believe the same point could have been made without quite as much religious retrospect being made by the characters all the time. Just my opinion, maybe others would feel it is very important to the text as a whole.

The relationships that are built between the characters is very believable, and the plot moves along at a nice brisk pace so the reader does not get bored at any point in time. It is one of those books you actually think about weeks later after you complete reading it.

I have it saved in my Kindle in a folder marked "look for sequel or other titles". Hope to find more from this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yes, God can work in unusual ways June 23, 2013

Yes, God can work in unusual ways, but the way God supposedly used this dog was really far out. If you are a very conservative Christian, you probably will not like this. If you are more evangelical, there are some amazing images in this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars God Said Woof November 20, 2012
I've been trying to get through this book for a couple of weeks now. I almost quit reading it a couple of times, but I am curious how it will turn out. The MANY story lines are really strange. I can't imagine how it will turn out in the end. I guess that's why I'm still struggling through it. I may revise my rating when I finally finish the book.

I finally finished the book. I lowered my rating for several reasons. I believe it went against scripture as I believe it. It was too graphic for me and I skimmed over parts because of that. I'm aware that this fiction but not my type. Obviously many enjoyed it. It was just plain disturbing to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it. April 7, 2013
At first I didn't understand what was going on, but I a joyful that I kept reading. It is funny how our efforts seem to be in vain at times, but God's ultimate plans are always played out. Those two women who decided to keep there babies based on a balloons message. Everything works together for the glory of God.

1.0 out of 5 stars too graphic August 5, 2013
Verified Purchase
The first chapter was interesting, though a little strange and long on details I found irrelevant. The second was extremely graphic and disturbing. After that, I skimmed a bit to try and get into the story, but it just wasn't happening for me. Not what I'm looking for in a Christian book. If I want something this graphic, I can read Stephen King.

I could not make it through this book. Slow and gross. If you are this patient, read OSC's Xenocide or Dickens instead. Sorry.
