I know many reviewers on Amazon award 5 stars to any album they like, but I'm trying to save that designation for truly classic albums, and 4 stars for those just a notch below. I do really like this album. Good catchy songs, with a slight edgy quality. This is the best thing I've heard from the Jacobites since their first couple of albums in the mid-80s. And this one is far better produced, with better sound quality than their first two. It also has a greater variety of music, and is likely to have wider appeal.

Still the Jacobites aren't for everyone. It is trite to say this, but for those who've never heard them, they sound a little like what the Stones might have sounded like had they been fronted by Bob Dylan, rather than Mick Jagger, circa Let it Bleed. They clearly love rock and roll, and Dave Kusworth, Nikki Sudden, and Epic Soundtracks (the late brother of Sudden, two of whose songs appear on this album) do write some really good songs, both ballads and more rocking numbers. Some sweet, some haunting. Definitely worth checking out.
