Review

As life inevitably takes each of us through sufferings similar to that of Job, we will no doubt have questions similar to those Job asked—“Where is God in all this?” “Why doesn’t He deliver me?” God Speaks gives answers, and with those answers comes much needed comfort.
- Kirk Cameron, Actor and Co-author of Still Growing and Conquer Your Fear, Share Your Faith

The storms of this life are inevitable, and we know from Scripture that only those who build their house on rock will survive. God Speaks lays out God’s building plans through the gospel simply and succinctly. It is the perfect gift for those who don’t know the Lord as well as for those who need comfort in tribulation.
- Todd Friel, Host of Wretched Radio/TV

ANSWERS TO LIFE’S QUESTIONS FROM THE BOOK OF JOB

When pain or tragedy strikes, the first question most of us ask is, “Why?” We’re in good company. The biblical book of Job tells the story of a man who lost everything, his children, his wealth and even his health—and also wanted to know why. Why should he, a God-fearing man, suffer so much? Why did God allow it?

Job did not get the answer he expected. In fact, God began to ask questions of His own, 70 questions, to be exact. And in His response to a grieving, broken man, we can catch glimpses of hope in the midst of our own suffering. Join Ray Comfort as he journeys into Job’s extraordinary story. You’ll find that, when God speaks, He will transform you and forever change your perspective on suffering and faith.

Warning! This is not a commentary on Job. In fact most chapters only touch on a verse or half dozen. A couple even have as their only mention of Job a chapter and verse number in the book chapter title. You actually have to get out a Bible and read the verse to find out what it says, and try to figure out what that has to do with the subject of Ray`s Chapter.
Because in almost every chapter, the Job verse acts as the kick off for a chapter on Biology, Evolution, Anatomy, how not to impress your wife while making a smoothie with the lid off the blender, the world's hottest hot sauce, Atheism, Law, Hell's Best Kept Secret, Abortion, Animals and hundreds of other subjects, that often leave you wondering what they have to do with Job.
And Ray being a leading evangelist with a one gospel tract mind, slips in lots of information on being born again, how to spread the gospel, etc.
Enough complaing! The book never drags, keeps up your interest, is great fun to read, I even laughed in a few places, and you learn a frightful lot about all kinds of things, even if you really don't learn too much about poor old Job.

The Book of Job . . . the person of Job . . . the patience of Job. Ray Comfort's survey of the character and calamity of Job is one of the newest in his long line of practical, life-experience publications filled with scriptural commentary and personal exploits. I deeply appreciate Ray's no-nonsense writing style which makes the book come across to me as if he is sitting across the room in a comfortable (no pun intended) chair and casually talking with me personally. The book is as informative and instructive as it is enjoyable. I would recommend this book to any who has ever had or ever expects to have difficulty in their life at some time. It certainly could make a difference.

Ray Comfort has written a book that is like sitting with a close friend and enjoying a conversation about many topics. I was expecting more of a commentary style book on the biblical book of Job. However, I was not disappointed.

In this book Comfort explores the person of Job and his patience and faith. In the midst of hopeless situations we can find hope in the one who sustains us in all things. Have you ever faced a bleak situation, a place in life where all seems lost and the world seems turned upside down? Have you ever wondered where God was and why He was not answering your prayers? Did you ever get to the other side of the valley to discover God had answered your questions and prayers just not in the way you expected? This is the way of Job - devastation, loss, complete sadness and ruin. Yet, in the midst of the ash pile Job looked up and saw the face of God. In the midst of the trial Job held onto a hope in the one who held on to him.

Explore the person of God in a way only Ray Comfort can do it. Curl up with a cup of coffee and find hope in the pages of this book as you explore the bible and are given life lessons and illustrations from the author.

Thanks Ray Comfort for a great read and thank you Regal for this free review copy.

Job, the earliest written book in scripture and possibly the most insightful man that ever lived. Without all of the knowledge of God from scripture, he makes incredibly perceptive statements about God. Ray 's book shows how Job's life is the perfect example of a righteous man who has an intimate understanding of God's ways.
