5.0 out of 5 stars Best Death Metal CD i have ever purchased.. no really....
This CD is incredible. In a nutshell, this is the most fantastic arrangement of brutally melodic death metal i have heard.. ever.. Vehemence - God Was Created, remains and has remained in my CD player for two straight weeks now.. and it keeps getting better.. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not up to the hype
I can't for the life of me see why this band, and CD gets so many rave reviews. I mean...the music is interesting, I'll give it that, and it's death metal, but it's not aggressive at all. It's more like...how opeth would sound if they went death. Very drawn out, technical, and after a while...boring. The lyrics are pretty hilarious...but good - like a well written...

This CD is incredible. In a nutshell, this is the most fantastic arrangement of brutally melodic death metal i have heard.. ever.. Vehemence - God Was Created, remains and has remained in my CD player for two straight weeks now.. and it keeps getting better.. Vehemence plays a very melodic and epic form of death metal, with extremely low growling and extremely moving guitar passages. Interesting combination in my opinion yet it seems to flow like a stream. The albums concept is incredible, as each song is a different part of a story that is told from start to finish. The lyrics are some of the most blasphemic lyrics i have heard ever, and the vocalist realeases them with such force and power, it is godly. The drumming is one of my favorite parts of this band, because it is extremely audible, extremely technical, and extremely F'ing amazing!! this guy really knows how to mix up a nice little dish of drumming mayhem while keeping an extremely groovy beat. A dash of technicality, a pinch of melody, and Vehemence creates an entree of utter perfection!! Every single track is really really good, but my favorites include "Christ, I F$#%cking hate you", "God Was Created", and "She Never Noticed Me." I recommend this album especially for anyone who is a fan of melodic metal, and groovy death metal.. And if you haven't had the chance to, check out Bloodbath's Resurrection Through Carnage.. Another personal Favorite

5.0 out of 5 stars Melodies laced with brutality, December 22, 2002
This review is from: God Was Created (Audio CD)
When I first heard Vehemence, I thought they were a Swedish band, mainly because the music is melodic ...! With a few keyboards here and there, it makes for the perfect origiinal death metal without sounding repetitive and imitative. Fans of Swedish melodic metal and death metal will love this album. Also features some of the most obscene lyrical ideas out there right now. Buy this NOW..!

4.0 out of 5 stars If not for the vocals, 'twould be a Five Star-er, April 12, 2003

I saw these guys open for Testament in December of '02, and they blew me away(the other two openers were Exhumed and Vio-Lence . . . maybe the only two bands that could ever, _ever_ make me think of WALKING OUT before Testament took the stage . . . well, Limp Bizkit could've done it too). The melodies mated to the horrifying brutality . . . wow. So I rushed out and got this CD. And I was blown away again. The only problem with this band is the vocals- typical Death Metal vomit-growling with no inventiveness at all. Although, it does mask the lyrics, which are also not all that inventive(I hate God, so on and so forth). However, these two aspects do not detract too much from the amazing music, which can go from beautiful to skull-crushing on a dime. Highly recommended, this one. Oh, and Vehemence do have another CD out there . . . even if Amazon[.com] doesn't apparently sell it. I haven't found it, but if you ever see it somewhere, snatch that one up too. If it's even half as good as "God Was Created" it'd be worth the purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars A League Of Its Own, January 25, 2006
This review is from: God Was Created (Audio CD)
Vehemence is not just another Suffocation clone. This band tends to be more melodic while adding brutal death vocals to their music. Songs like "The Last Fantasy of Christ" and "Fantasy From Pain" prove this off. This is something original here. Other songs like "God Was Created" may be faster, but still melodic as well. I highly recommend this. Buy this NOW.

And to the guy below, did you listen to the CD? Or did you just make a dumb assumption saying that this was a Cannibal Corpse ripoff band and decided to type some mumbo jumbo to piss us off? Well, sir, you don't know sh*t about music and seriously need to "not judge a book by its cover" and keep your mouth shut.

5.0 out of 5 stars BRUTALITY BEAUTIFLY CRAFTED !, February 25, 2004
This review is from: God Was Created (Audio CD)
It takes 2 words to describe vehemence, or this album and that is Beautiful Chaos, if u sit and listen to it, you will get trapped in it for hours, i listened to this music while making love to a girl and every time i hear the cd i go back to that moment and i am trapped in it this album is utter furiosity at its best, the drummer plays in triplet bursts most of the time and he is amazingly fast at hands and dbl bass, the guitar work baffels me, the bassist plays with a soul of steel and the vocalist, my god the damn vocalist is a god.

This band is simply amazing, one of the best features about this is if u purchase the album and open the album up and read the booklet the lyrics are amazing, Not only does he write good but each and every song cordinate with each other. The album tells a story if u read along with each song, and each song picks up where the other one left off, this album i kid you not is amazing and i suggest any true metalhead pick it up.

4.0 out of 5 stars Long but Excellent, July 27, 2005
This review is from: God Was Created (Audio CD)
This album was something that I had been looking forward to listening to for a long time, so when I finally got the chance to do so, I was pretty amazed. The songs on this record were full of tempo changes, long buildups and plenty of melodic riffing that i felt were nothing but awesome. They were brutal yet melodic. The only complaint that I had was the length of the album and the songs. I felt that they were too long but still interesting. To put this all in a nutshell, this , i feel, is a mix between the european and american styles of death metal. Buy this and be amazed.

5.0 out of 5 stars well, im amazed, September 9, 2004
This review is from: God Was Created (Audio CD)
this album is exactly what the world of metal needs. to be honest, ive never heard one quite like this! "Helping the World to See" is a great album, but is not nearly the masterpiece that this is. lots of bands these day use melodic guitar lines over guttural vocals, with sprinkles of acoustic guitar, but none have mastered the blend quite so well as these guys. to say this album is "beautiful" would be an understatement. yes, it is death metal, and goofy in its own way, but i cant help but get the chills everytime i put this on. this is one of the few metal albums ive heard that is truly moving as a whole. the way the dark, and often sick and twisted, lyrics fit into the brutal serenity is flawless. to those who say metal cannot be moving, listen to this! actually, if you dont like metal, you probably wont like this. but to all you metal-heads looking for something different, get this at once!

4.0 out of 5 stars These guys have chops, July 8, 2004
This review is from: God Was Created (Audio CD)
I bought this album because I liked the cover art and their band name.

I guess I got lucky on that one because when I popped this bad johnny into the cd player I heard some really talented musicians busting out some epic sounding death metal. From what I've heard, these guys are pretty young, they sound like veterans.
The dude's voice is DEEP. It sounds like maybe he had a pitchbending effect on his voice (only a few times, not for the whole cd) but regardless I really don't care.
I think the highlights of this album are when they have the acoustic guitar passages that add a beautiful atmosphere to the already epic sound.
I'm not into the whole Christ-bashing thing. I'm not offended by it either. I'll just say if you might have a problem with that stuff then don't read the lyrics.

5.0 out of 5 stars we all have to grow up some time..., December 30, 2007
This review is from: God Was Created (Audio CD)
take vehemences first album "thoughts from which i hide" you can find it @ [...]/vehemence. a very brutal album. then you have this album which is nice middle ground. beautiful song stuctures with plenty of meat to keep you happy. laying the ground for "helping the world to see" a very melodic album which should not be over looked. but this album is it for me. just too bad they broke up. you can check nathan the vocalist in "he who binds himself". bjorn (guitar), andy (drums) and mark (bass) in the "symentry in chaos" and jon (guitar) in "cursed in black". myspace them and you will find them. great musicians all of them.
