More About the Author

Dave Ursillo Jr. was born in 1986 to Jane and David. He has considered himself to be a writer since penning his first Op-Ed for his high school's student newspaper. After fruitless endeavors to attain superpowers in youth, for eight years he built a rickety home in the world of politics and public service -- before a heart-swelled storm razed it to the ground.

In the years that followed, Dave has written over 300 essays on DaveUrsillo.com for more than 100,000 readers from 174 countries. He published his debut nonfiction book, Lead Without Followers, in 2011 and an explorative journey of spirituality in poetic form, God Whispers on the Wind, in 2012.

Afflicted with sporadic wanderlust, Dave finds himself a resident of New York City's East Village. He considers himself to be a student of life, a beneficiary of the faces of strangers on the street and a lover of mystical poets of old. Dave plans to write a few dozen books, globe-trot, speak, and share smiles with one million faces.

Dave's prior experiences in public service span five governmental offices in six years from 2003 to 2009, including the White House Council on Environmental Quality in 2008 and as a political aide and "body man" to a state gubernatorial candidate in 2009.

A light, fun and easy to read book of poems.

I love how "God" changes consistently through the book, sometimes it's a male father figure, other times it's a woman, sometimes God is found in water and the universe - it really reflected my own beliefs, that God is anything that you create it to be rather than a fixed entity. I wouldn't consider myself religious at all, but definitely spiritual - and this book evokes everything that is spiritually beautiful about the world we live in.

If you're feeling a little flat, or just looking for a pick me up - get this book! It's gorgeous!

The author has captured something of the Infinite in these words, something that transcends religion and belief and taps directly into Oneness and Love. My heart feels lighter after reading these poems. My soul is smiling.

What more can be said in words without resorting to poetry of my own?

This book is one of my all-time favorites, along with Paulo Coehlo's "The Alchemist".

The first poem drew me right in--each subsequent reflection is an invitation to ease into the exploration of the concept of infinite possibility. When you read one poem, your heart begins to open and you feel anything is possible...reading more than one poem inspires you to listen, to create, to connect with "self", another, World. To honor full creative expression as you share your truth, and to allow that current of creativity to move you into myriad spaces.

I didn't read this book in one sitting--I skimmed through the entire thing to get a feel. Then, I savored the gift of each poem, absorbing the meaning as I considered "how" and "where" to apply it; allowing that feel to infuse whatever I was prompted to create. Energetic doors opened and real opportunities were placed--in such a potent way, reading this book changed my life. (Reading it again adds affirmation, depth, and range to those changes.)

I'll admit that I don't usually read poetry collections (perhaps a failing in my literary upbringing), and spiritual poetry has never been an attraction in the best of times. But Dave's compilation of heartfelt and thoughtful writing is strangely compelling. Each poem seems to tie into the next, although they're intended as separate works. The book as a whole, then, gives the reader a sense of the Divine that's palpable - like you could reach out into a thunderstorm and touch Spirit.

The decision to include a handful of guest poets is a great touch, too. Not only do we get to hear extra voices, but the fact that others have similarly rapturous experiences with Spirit lends more grace to Dave's own work.
