Classic Nashville gospel album reissued,

Connie Smith's girl-groupish country hits started to mellow out a bit after she got 'born again' in 1968... This CD is a reissue of a previously hard-to-find album of gospel duets she recorded in 1969 with Nat Stuckey. It's a nice mix of her bouncy style and more serious, ornate Nashville Sound countrypolitan. Might be a little cheesy for some, but for Connie Smith fans who have despaired of ever finding a reasonably-priced copy of the original "Sunday Morning" album, this disc is a godsend.

Dolly Parton once said that there were only three singers in Country Music who could really sing: Patsy Cline, Linda Ronstandt and Connie Smith. Dolly said, "The rest of us are just pretending". No overstatement. This gem of a CD is absolutely gorgeous. Teamed with Nat Stuckey Connie and he have the perfect blend and every cut is a masterpiece! I have played this CD over and over and I am moved every time! I can't pick a favorite cut because they are all outstanding. This is what gospel music and country music is all about folks. Connie is without par with her style and her deep faith is reflected in every nuance of her songs. Nat Stuckey's voice is beautiful and resonant as well and they work well together. I only wish RCA would release her other gospel albums on CD as well!! I have a couple of them on vinyl and they are outstanding too. You will not be disappointed with this CD.

Beautiful Harmony,

What beautiful harmony between Nat & Connie. I agreee with the other person who reviewed this album except I am giving it 5 stars. I knew this album was available, but not recognizing the title, I thought it was probably a more recent release of these two artists cheaply put together. How wrong I was. I finally decided to buy it last week since I have everything that Connie has done and would like to own more Nat Stuckey on CD.
What a pleasant surprize to find that it was their 1970 RCA release SUNDAY MORNING WITH NAT STUCKEY & CONNIE SMITH. Now if only someone would publish their only other duet album YOUNG LOVE.
