Unlike more technical death metal bands like Death or Sadus that kill you with their lightning speed solos and drum blasts, Pungent Stench is more of a stripped down, back to basics form of death metal. This in my opinion is their heaviest and more raw sounding album. Tracks like "Just Let me Rot" and "For God your soul For Me your Flesh" show us how brutal and raw this band can be. The vocals are simply brutal, its a cross between Chris Barnes low Devastating cries and a drunk guy vomiting his guts out. This album is essential if you are a serious Death Metal fan and you want to hear other, less well known Death metal bands. This is a good place to start and then of course the classic "Been caught Buttering" where you can hear for yourself how amazingly brutal they can sound without all the flash and hoopla that other death metal bands put into their music. Great album, get it, oh and by the way, have a vomitting bag next to you, the vocals are pretty disgusting.

Pungent stench is one of those deathmetal bands that some foget and others didn't care about but i for one have always been a fan of their work. Don't try to compare legends like death or morbid angel with ps but do realize that their music is plain brutal and spychotic deathmetal and its not suppost to be fancy like others but it is suppost sound the way it sounds...Apreciate it! Pungent stench's "for god for your soul...For me your flesh" is an album that i've always cherish it and will continue to play it nonstop. recommend for any deathmetal lover, out there.

WHEN I FIRST HEARD THEM FOR THE FIRST TIME I TOOK NOTE. PURE MUSIC FOR ALL YOUR MOSHIN'NEEDS. I BOUGHT THIS RECORD,GAVE EAR, AND WAS HOOKED TO IT INSTANTLY. I SAY THIS RELEASE IS THEIR BEST WORK.

I can recall many years ago when I was buying up any thing that came out from Relapse or Nuclear Blast and always telling myself I would get this album. Fourteen years later I end up buying it, paying almost $50 for it. Worth it? Yeah, I'd say so, but I am still kicking myself for not getting it before it became near obsolete. I even bought a vinyl copy, first printing. This has got to be Pungent's best offering, closely followed by the amazing gore that was "Been Caught Buttering". Glad I held on to that one or I'd be shelling out the change for it now, and with the copies dwindling that is a position I would not care to be in.
If you can find these gems, hold on to them! Like I said worth the money, unfortunately you will have to pay.

I orginally bought this on Vinyl when it first came out (Metal Head - Carnaby St)The Cover Was Cool(They Have Produced Better) The Lyric's Twisted And The Music Was Manic, But That's Pungent Stench For Ya.

I generally lost interest in the Weakening Deathmetal scene Circa 1997, but have recently rediscovered why i loved this type of music in the first place. It's still sounds better on Vinyl Though!

THIS IS OUT OF PRINT!!BUT TWICE!!!TWICE!!2!!!

Yes this was first released with a GERMAN pressing with 10 extra songs ..demo stuff that KILLED!!!THE FASTEST DRUMING EVER IS ON THERE!!NO LIE!!

Then they re-released it again in 93' with a different cover,(equally sick to me!) and different mixes for like 3 of the songs as the old master tapes for them were lost!! they also killed(on the 93' one) some of the OVERLEY LOUD DISTORTED BASS..WHICH WAS A HUGE NO NO!!..so yes THE REAL VERSION OF THIS HAS SOME OF THE MOST OBSCENE BASS PLAYING EVER!!ALL HAIL PITBULL!!!!

So if you can FIND THE ORIGINAL PRESS!!! IT HAS THE COVER WITH SEVERED HANDS, FEET AND FACE!

THIS IS CLASICK GORE METAL/GRIND..ONE OF THE TEN BEST IN THIS GERNE!!!THEY NEVER DID TOP THIS ALBUM THOUGH!! ALTHOUGH ALL THEIR OTHER STUFF(SAVE THE NEW ALBUMS!) IS STILL AMAZING THOUGH!! IF YOUR GONNA GET ONE PUNGENT ALBUM..BE IT THIS ONE!!THE ORIGINAL PRESS TOO DONT FORGET!!

I thought this was a pretty cool c.d. At first, I didn't like it 'cuz of the lyrics, but then I think that the way they sing was cool. But you may want to scratch out the guy's dick on the inside cover. it's censored on the front, but it's gross!!!!!!!

This manic album was issued in 1990 via NB Records [029]. This version from the Austrian band has NOT got inexplicably The 'Split' Lp with [Disharmonic O] & Extreme Deformity EP. The decision by NB to keep them off this time is bizarre, as the tracks serve as the foundation of the group. The Album cover is also different from the Original.

Basically this means that you the Pungent Stench fan are losing 10 Tracks, from the Original CD. though very RAW still amazing. However i do beleive you can buy 'Praise the Names of the Musical Assasins' a CD with all the missing stuff + more seperatly..[Makes Good Buisness sense NB!]

Still, For God Your Soul... is an interesting take on grind with the obvious gore/death tendencies at max strenght.
'Suspended Animation' is the best track on here by miles.

Goodness guys, one of the most crazy albums ever released. These guys are completely sick. More grinding than the next album, but as mentally disturbed. Get the Klyster today!
